My kitten...he only has 3 legs.

SueO posted Thu, 25 April 2002 at 6:41 PM

He's a tootsie! A tortie-point siamese, maybe? What happened to the fourth leg? Nice use of B&W, and nice subject isolation in both shots.

he and his twin brother were tangled up at birth and both of them lost a back leg. it was dead and the vet had to cut it off. He's a blue-point siamese and all teeth and claws and rowdiness :) thanks for the compliment

Great for the photography forum; call him "tripod." It is amazing how these three-legged kitties and doggies can keep up with the rest of the pack. And they give a lot of love to their people.

what a gorgeous kitty... is this one of the pair you were trying to find homes for? the really neat thing about an animal is their ability to compensate for any appendage loss... they will be tearing around the house as if they had 4 legs!! lol... i agree tripod is a good name, lol now the other one could be called tria... since it's a she ? :)

SueO posted Thu, 25 April 2002 at 9:04 PM

Well, he has no idea what he'd do with a 4th leg, does he? what's he, about 9 or 10 weeks old? Kittens are so fun.

CrystalWizard posted Thu, 25 April 2002 at 9:09 PM

he's 8 1/2 weeks old and he's so funny. sometimes he sits down and tries to scratch his ear with that missing leg and looks confused why he cant but usualy he just goes about being a cat, completely oblvious to the fact he's supposed to be disabled. no i wasn't trying to find a home for this kitten. trying to find a home for 2 small black dogs. grin. i like tripod but I already named him rascal. thank you for all the compliments on the photos :) I wrote a poem to go with the image: Life is full of wonder I said.. promises and hopes and dreams... but...not for me. I'm hurt, I'm broken.. Should I give up? Why not, everyone else does. and then... My kitten bounces through the room, chasing his ball and tumbling along. Poor thing, doesn't he know he can't chase a ball with only three legs?

Wonderful photos of a brave little one. You can scratch his ear for him and love him just as he is.
