I just took a look how to add some freestuff - specifically my 32-bit DOS program MMFrac but was disappointed. Firstly there doesn't appear to be a "Fractal" section. Secondly I was hoping to upload the file to Renderosity as that would be simplest but it appears I can't do that - I have to submit a thumbnail and link instead. Unfortunately I can't submit a direct link to the zip of my program - the program is available on two of my websites but neither server allows direct outside links to files. Is it possible to: 1. Have a fractal section added ? 2. Submit a link to a downloads page rather than directly to the zip file ? bye Dave

MMFrac was written using Watcom to use "dos4gw.exe" a 32-bit DOS extender. I only recommend MMFrac for those who prefer the keyboard to the mouse, DOS diehards or those who for some reason have to use DOS instead of Windows (or whatever). It does one or two things that I really miss in Ultrafractal - in particular the ability to have a switch preview using the currently selecting colouring formula/s rather than some defaults. Unfortunately it doesn't do layers though. What's "the product showcase" ? Do you just mean my gallery ?

everyone that has an account can upload their artwork to the different galleries and it all shows up under their personal artists gallery (click on the my homepage link on the sidebar) if you search on their name as well as being mixed in with everyone elses stuff in the topic gallery it was uploaded to. I can host your program on cyberwizards.com if you want for people to download. Let me know

Thanks Kelly - are you sure your server allows direct external links to non-HTML files (there are very few who do, even commercial ones) ? (You can check in their TOS)

yes my server allows direct external links to non-html files. it's a real server, my machine, my domain, my tos not space on someone elses. I'm curious why you dont want a thumbnail page though...hard to show the users what your program can do without something like that.

Kelly: Oh - wish I had my own server too !! I didn't notice there was a specific showcase gallery - I should have done from Tom's message. I will upload some MMFrac images to there. You could you download the MMFrac zip from: http://skyscraper.fortunecity.com/terabyte/966/download.html and put it on your site, then let me know the URL so I can add it to the freestuff. Thanks Dave
