Does anyone know how to remove or smooth the backside of a 3d model? For example in Bryce, if you model anything, it has a reverse copy on the backside of the model, how can I smooth this out ? I have Poser 4,3D Studio max, and Zbrush.I just don't know the best way to fix this. Dwmdesigner

Why not just model as a terrain instead of a lattice?

Thanks Ironfixer, I tried that but it leaves edges around the piece, is there anyway to get rid of the edges? Dwmdesigner

Sure. Use the clipping tool. Slide it up till it clips off the portion you don't want.

It's the bracket looking thing on the side of the Bryce terrain canvas. In Bryce 5 it is hidden so you have to click on the icon on the top of the right corner of the canvas window to get it to show. You just click and drag the top or the bottom of the clipping tool up or down, depending on if you want the top or bottom removed. This is also good to remove the top or bottom from any other tweaking, like adding noise, then unclip to see it again.
