Ok... This is wierd. I don't use Poser too much anymore, unless it's for checking out a model with Poser's rendering engine, but tonite, something creepy happened. I double-click my Poser 4 shortcut, and Poser starts loading... Suddenly, a window opens giving me an "opportunity" to go buy poser stuff. I close that window, and it opens again. Now I'm scratching my head wondering what the hell happened. Has anyone else experienced this? The advertisement only pops up when I go to use Poser. Hrm. Paul

Try www.lavasoftusa.com and grab ad-aware (be patient if it bounces you a bit). It's a spyware killing program that's nice and free. I don't think this has anything to do with Poser itself, but is likely something that came with some other program/shareware/etc. recently installed. The joys of people doing anything to make money now, including invading your computer....

A final note, be careful about what it says is and is not spyware. It does a good job in general, but is not always right. Very useful program, however.

Thanks, whoopdat... I'll give it a try.

Just ran the proggie you recommended... it removed a bunch of stuff I doubt I would have ever found! One complaint, though... my computer feels about 4 pounds lighter, and seems confused by the extra hard drive space. ;) Paul P.S.: thanks again!

Glad it helped a few folks out. I run it every so often, just to make sure. It's a nifty program. And they release database updates fairly frequently, for those of you constantly trying new programs. :) nu-be, try this instead: http://www.lavasoft.nu/ It should go to the same place, just a different address for it.
