i hate to say this but they're ugly. and square. and not the least bit fractilish.

not the least bit fractilish. LOL... no that they are not. perhaps if we are good, we can come up with our own fractalish emoticons.... though they will be more typing to use, but it could be done.

There are lots of (animated) gifs with the normal smileys etc... They are small and funny :-)
