how about a contest where my next house is the prize? There would be up to 3 winners and 3 judges picked by me. The only requisite is that you would have to use one of my products as a major part of the picture. The artists would post the pictures here at Renderosity and the judges would choose among them. if all three judges pick 3 different pictures then there would be 3 prizes, if they all pick the same picture then there would be only one prize. get it? what do you think? anyone interested? You mean a 3D modelled house, right? For a minute there, I thought you meant your real house. OMG, the mortgage! ;)

yeah, a modeled house. Ironhart.

The contest and prize(s) sound neat, but am I correct in thinking that I have to have bought one of your products, or do you have something for free download that would be considered acceptable? Nahhhh, I'm not looking for a handout, just wanting to know the parameters. LOL, aprilgem!!!

yeah, customers only.. just like daz does with their products. That way I get a free ad and someone gets a house plus maybe a few people get interested enough to look at my products. kinda like a back scratching sorta thing.

Count me in, I would love to toss my cyber hat into the contest ring :)

so what are your products?

Sipapu posted Mon, 29 April 2002 at 9:24 PM

OK. I see that your nifty buildings are going for a great price right now. BUT, I don't have Poser. Are they useable in Bryce, and if so, would they include texture maps? BTW, I've noticed some of your marketing techniques. You obviously put some thought and creativity into your sales efforts. In this case, though, I think it would be a good idea to be very clear about the limitation to your customers only when you post the official announcement.

I am sorry, but I have no idea if my stuff will import into Bryce, I have imported other poser stuff into Bryce in the past and found that they come out partially textureless. To be honest, at this time I have no plans of making my stuff for bryce and therefore I can't vouch for how to make them work or even if they will work. I am sure there is a way, though I am not proficient enough with Bryce at this time to offer advice. and even then I suspect it might take Poser to set up the initial Pose. Though I hate to say it, I would suggest not buying my products until you are comfortable with importing Poser objects into bryce or 7unt8il you have Poser. Crystalwizard: you can click on my name and find my store or artist page which will inform you about products. This thread is reeking of advertisment and as such can be moved from here to another forum, and though I always hope that my postings will encourage new customers and contacts, I really want to get feedback about the contest concept. That is why I have posted no pictures or links here. but to clarify: The contest would have to include one of my models and it would be ok to use any media that the artist can import the model into. But note that the models are made specifically for Poser. Ironhart

Thanks for the info, Ironhart. I don't have any plans to get Poser, so it looks as though I'll have to forego your contest. Simple Poser objects are OK for me to import, but not those that have the complicated kinds of textures that yours do unless they have a jpg texture map. Good luck with the contest!

I know there are other places that have poser lists and forums and stuff. are you going to make the contest available to them as well? I think you'd do better just throwing it open to any and all poser users. you're going to get plenty of chances during it to give out the link to your store and stand a good chance of getting new customers who never even knew you existed that way. you're not likely to get any new customers if you restrict it to current customers only.

This sounds like fun, did you decide to do it? I checked out your buildings, and the prices are great......so, I for one, would not mind a bit if I needed to buy one to enter....in fact, even if you don't do it, I just got to have the blacksmith shop. (: Genny
