I have been trying for a LONG time now to download DAZ freebies... like Stephanie poses... and every time I get to about 3/4 of the download process it freezes up and just WILL NOT finish and I give up... I had trouble with my last order there and DAZ sent it to me on a CD... but I can't figure out why this is happening to me there... I have DSL connection, and can download items from here, and Poser World and various other places without a problem.. it's a frustrating mystery to me and I am missing all the freebie goodies.. and I know that I will have to wait until my 'wish list' for DAZ is large enough, then order it on a CD... but no freebies... heavy sigh. I am PC, high end machine, and like I said, DSL connection... just wanted to know if many others have this problem? Lyne

It's a pity we're not allowed to send on the freebies we have or I'd email them to you, I lost everything to a virus the other day and I can't download anything from daz now, but it's cause I don't have java on my machine, do you have it activated on yours? Rob

I'm just on a 56k modem on an ancient p2 I just use for surfing, and bought something like 30 megs of stuff last week so I don't think it's them, it may be your local provider. Usually if there is any problem it just cuts out, though I have had a screensaver on my pc in the past that seemed to lock up any downloads I had running.

I use real download, OK so it supports itself via adverts but seems innocuous enough. If I get a broken connection I can re-establish the link and continue where I left off. There's a free version and I can recommend it.Don posted Mon, 29 April 2002 at 3:42 PM

Okay.. I do have Java in fact I got every bell and whistle I could.. and am using IE6... I have 512 ram, and NO TSR's running.. got a tech for a hubby who keeps my machines slim and mean running... I even turned OFF my fire wall, but no help there.. when I was talking to Dan Farr he said my machine did not like to "talk to" their server.. and it seems to still be true... oh.. and I had this download trouble before IE6 too, exactly the same. And yes, download stops (no matter size of file) at about 288 KB or so.. I find it odd that I CAN download from anywhere else in the world, quite litterally... so it is honestly a msytery! Thanks for your help all and I sure will send a note to Don, thanks, Don!! The archives for freebies don't help me.. it's still the same thing, on the DAZ servers.. freebies, products.. I wish I knew... Lyne
