Having problems with render time, so I upgraded, including switching to Windows 2000 and new hard drive. Now, when I crank up Poser(4)and open a pz3 the program reports it cannot find anything, then opens a hideously distorted version of my work. I go into Explorer and I see all my obj etc, files Poser says it cannot find. They seem to be in the correct place. What gives?

Make sure the case is correct too. That's another thing poser is picky about.

Did you upgrade your OS or do a new install? Either way, you might try re-installing Poser. What I did last time so I wouldn't lose anything, was to rename my current poser folder (say to PoserOLD). Then install clean to Poser 4. After the install, I copied all of PoserOLD over to Poser 4. voila, I had my old Poser back. And because you've still got the old one, if something does go wrong, you can always get rid of the new Poser 4 and rename PoserOLD back to what it was. Then you're at least no worse for wear

Much more than JetM ... before re installing, edit the Register and clean up the Poser keys so the system would be just as if you never installed Poser ... in this case, back-up your Poser directory (empty from software but including your own stuffs), because never sure the installs would write over existing folders ... PhEn.
