I have been using Poser and Bryce for a while now, but I need a better modeler for the Mac. I was wondering what the general oppinion was regarding Carrara, is it worth it, does it interface well with Bryce and Poser? Any advice would be appreciated.

Carrara has the potential to be a nice program but at this time it has a lot of problems. Im still using Ray Dream for real work and just playing around with Carrara. Go to this web site: http://www.onelist.com and search for Carrara. Sign up for the list and check out the bug report. There seems to be a lot of problems. RDS has its problems also but at least I can predict when its going to crash. ;) I'm sure some other forum members have opinions on this also. Regards, Clint

I've been a hard core Studio 5.5 user and squealed like a stuck pig with the new Carrara interface. However, the interface is very similar to Bryce and Poser so the learning curve to use it was small. After forcing myself to learn the new 'rooms' in Carrara I can now model faster and more efficiently than in RD 5.5., especially with the shaders. There ar also some undocumented features that are nice as well as some vertex enhancements that I could have used many times in RD 5.5 Couple all of that with the faster rendering engine and it's worth the bucks Mark
