I've just started working with Carrara, switching over from Bryce. I did a few things with models, and then I started playing with the render engine. I can get a preview in the Assemble Room, but every time I try to start a full render, I get an "Unexpected Error", and the program (sometimes the machine) locks up. I've tried different settings and sizes, but nothing seems to help. I'm running the Windows version on a 350 P2, with 64 megs of RAM, and a Diamond Stealth 32 meg video card. I've got several gigs free on the drive. Everything else seems to work fine, but I'm about to throw this thing out the window. I saw a message from December from someone who had the exact same problem, butu didn't see if she ever got a fix. Can anyone offer any advice, or point me to more resources online I can look up? Thanks! -Jeff

Found a fix on the list! I had to create a generic printer driver, and select it as my system's default, and suddenly I can render. I don't know what the connection between the two is, but as long as I can render, I don't care for now! Thanks! -Jeff

Jeff, Awesome. You know - I almost suggested that but it sounds so stupid and I wasnt 100% sure that would do it. But that has worked for a lot of users. Glad to hear you got it working! Clint

It doesn't make sense, but it solved the problem. Now I'm having a blast with it! I thought Bryce was fun, but suddenly there's a whole bunch of new toys in the toybox with Carrara. -Jeff
