Has anyone experimented with editing body part meshes exported from Poser? I'm still learning the secrets of vertex modelling, so I don't know what I'm doing yet, but it seems like it may be possible to make boots, gloves, etc. from edited arms & legs. I brought a leg mesh into Carrara and pulled a bunch of the polygons around, but all I ended up with was a mess. Has anyone tried this successfully? -Jeff

Jeff, I havent used Carrara for this yet, But I think your on the right track. I still use RDS MFM. I think I have seen tutorials around on how to do this. One that I remember showed you how to make a jacket out of the arms/Chest mesh. I checked in the Tutorials section here at Renderosity over on the right sidebar. Then went to Modeling. Found this one: http://brokenhalos.org/contrast/3dsite/P3-Max%20tutorial.htm Its using Poser 3 and 3DS Max but the concepts are the same if using RDS 5.x or Carrara. I havent seen any step by step guides for using Carrara yet. Here is another one for Poser 3 clothing. Not sure what modeling package is used but its done by PhilC. He stuff rocks. http://www.users.globalnet.co.uk/~pcooke/graphics/clothing_tutorial.htm Anyway - Poke around in the tutorial section and see what ya can find. Some other forum members may have some other/better info for ya. I hope this helps you along. Clint
