May Challenge, Multiplicity. Make an image which has a large group of similar things in it and something interesting is happening with them. What kinds of things are we talking about? Examples would be a bowl of marbles, a collection of butterflies in a tree, people in a line at the store, bunches of buildings, rows of books, etc. How would these examples be interesting? A cat could be playing with the marbles, the butterflies could be feeding on the flowers in the tree, the people could be in an argument over a magazine cover, the buildings could be on fire, the books could be in a bookshelf that's falling over, etc. What constitutes a large group? Let's say eight or more. As always, good luck and have fun! -Kix

I just went a little over board with MR, using a modified diamond mat that i created.
MR has been a kind of addiction of late, making a basic 1000 sphere porject, onto 12,500 and then onto 17,000.
The sphere size in this scene is 1000 in every axis.
I have only been modeling and working in Bryce for about a year, as such i have a long way to go.
Sphere count in the scene?, i have no idea, i shall however attempt to work it out..LOL...i'll try.
I am currently working on a 50,000 sphere multirep using a modified diamond mat similar to the diamond mat within this piece...yep its diamond...well was...LOL.
My largest Br.4 file is 876 meg in size, which has basically killed my pc many times...i am now returning to sanity'ville to create something a little smaller.
Steve..aka Lord Of Dragons.
CrystalWizard posted Sat, 18 May 2002 at 6:37 PM
what's MR?
LordOfDragons posted Sat, 18 May 2002 at 8:12 PM
MR= Multi Replication. Taking a single sphere then commanding it to curve, swirl and move in whatever direction you choose up to a max of 999 spheres at a time, just keep repeating the process till you get bored or until the pc melts..

Wow, you are doing amazingly well Steve! I wonder if I'll be as far along as you when I've been at this for a year :) er, what kind of beast do you run/melt anyway? Must be pretty powerful to handle 800mb+!

Video clip (MPEG format, 219KB)
Nothing really interesting or innovative here, except perhaps for the title ... just an experiment I conducted last week to see how many Poser figures I could effectively use simultaneously on a really crappy system. And it seemed to fit the theme.
9 copies of Victoria Reduced Resolution (V-Lo, as I like to call her), with DAZ's low-resolution sample maps
Pentium 3 800MHz, 128MB of RAM, Windows 98 First Edition
Now, where's low-res Mike?
