Subject: Req: DAZDragon Skin Renders

Heyas, I'd like to start another comparison thread :) Could people post renders of all their DAZ dragon skins? Preferably with a closish headshot and a full body shot for each texture. I'd really like to see what's out there. Thanks! I'll put mine in as soon as I get home :) Lyrra

I know of at least fifty freebie textures for the DAZ Dragon, which aren't part of a commercial package. I would like to learn which texture was used in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, assuming that it wasn't custom-made for the show.

I have some more textures, but no more time.
There is a file called 'Dragonskins.zip' with 17 tex and one trans map from Lyrra Madril. ;)
Also missing are some Vio6 remapped dragon textures.
If nobody else is rendering those, I do them tommorow.

Its not tomorrow yet, but there I go again. This is the Vio6 (Viomar) remapped dragon. I have only one texture (pdsVio6dragontexture.zip) from Pokeydots for him. There is no streching on the head!

I really like #26, the scales on the head really mask the crappy streaching that usually occures on the dragons nose.

Well, you all beat me to it this time! BUT I don't see HandSpun Studio's in here (from the Market Place). I have them at home so I can't post them for you now.....I still think they are the Best! If they are not posted by tonight (US Pacific time) I'll shoot a couple renders out......

What gets me is there are so many maps yet I haven't seen one legit render of the dragon nor its use in a rendered story. That's like painting a car 500 ways yet never actually driving it.

A quick note: For those that really hate the "Stretching" on the Head, Arms & legs. Viomar & TMGraphics did a remap of it(In FreeStuff: Search "tmgraphics"). With a little effort, one could easily adapt existing textures to work with it... Another nice thing about it, is that it uses 3 maps(same technique as Vicky). So, you get more detail overall for closeups... Cool Idea to post this! :-) Anik

Yuri, Thanks for hijacking my post :) And doing my textures for me :) It suddenly ocurred to me that I kinda meant to make a bumpmap to go with my otherwise-fairly-plain textures. I really should get aorund to that one of these days :) oh and the Kai dragons were partially made with - you guessed it - Kai's power tools texture explorer. Mason, As for not using them in legit renders - if you check my gallery you'll find some of my dragons being used. Without scantily clad babaes either :) I have to run out to do some errands in RL - but I'll rummage through my drives and see if I have any that you guys missed. Bubba: My zip has your readme...I have yours in a folder called "bubba" (yours is one of my more frequently used texutes as well ;-) Mason: I have some renders in the gallery using both the DAZ Dragon and 3DWizard's Puff (a morphed version of DAZ's) OpticalSingenoid: Also I think it was DaCort that did a remap of the DAZ dragon to remove the streaching, actually I have 2 remapped version (sorry, not at my own machine to confirm both artists) man i wish i was at home, we really need to add HandSpun Studio's to this list!! REALLY nice textures!!

My bad, the readme to the Vio6 remapped dragon says it is from Viomar and ThoughMasterGraphics. But I still have only one texture for him. :(

My Bro(Viomar)did one a few years back & Thomas(TMGraphics) spoke to him about going further with it & fixing more then just the Head stretching... Hence the collaboration! So, recap: Originaly from Viomar. But Reworked to a much better one by TMGraphics! Jay! If you want it, i can email it to you! Since, my bro has the original files... As for having only one texture for it. Well, like i said! Adapting existing ones to the Remap is not that difficult! Even for someone like me who's not good at texturing. LOL You might ask TMGraphics! I thought he was working on a new set of textures just for the remap?? Oh! I know Demantia also did a very good Remap too! Can't remember her site url off hand though... The texture in post #26 (QTVRMan) is called "Bloodlust".

The texture in post #56 (24caratdragon) is by MGSkaggs.

Ms_Outlaw did a nice golden texture for the Vio6 dragon, but I have no idea where you'd find it now.

The VIO6 Remmapped ZygoteDragon WAS on my web page, but sadly that web page is down right now, but please email me at raz64@sc.rr.com for the files. 1 ZIP is the remap and 1 ZIP is the templates. You must own the Daz(Zygote)Dragon to use this remap! I have made a few textures for the VIO6, but have not offered them for free or for sale. Here is a couple I have done. I have a few more in the works, that I have unfortunately not put alot of time into lately. I love this thread, I love Dragons! This is the greates thread of all times in my opinion!! TMGraphics (Thanks again to Viomar for all his help with the Remapping of the ZygoteDragon!)

A note! Bubba's Texture for Viomar's Remap is not for vio6! This was for his first remap, that was hosted by Cazcie(Spelling?) on her site. Don't know if it's still there. Wish i had a link to her site. :-( It's still one of my favorite ones! Viomar used just that Bubba texture in his Logo a few years back(Check his "Artist Page" to see it). Thanks Bubba!! Later! Anik
