I've found a couple of threads on automobile models for poser, so maybe someone can point me at the right place for my needs. I need a model of a vehicle that has a finished interior: seats, floorboards, brake and gas pedals. I need to make a series of images that show a body's reactions inside a car involved in a vehicular collision. for ease of use I want to use Poser 4. The ability to visually remove the outer chassis (or at least the doors) would be great. Alternatively an independant interior (without any fancy exteriors, would also be useful. To have these items scaled for poser figures would simply make my life easier. Any help you guys can give me, would be seriously appreciated. JBT

There are a couple, do a search at the market place for Kattman, he has a good car collection, also there are a couple of cars in teh free stuff, a Boss, and an old chevy. Sharkey has a vette here, there is also a benz here somewhere. I have a few cars from 3dcafe that I converted for poser but I am not sure of the legalities of posting them...I am working on a tutorial for one of them at the moment btu the cars here should suit your neeeds.

Making parts of a car disappear depends on the model you use. Some can be disassembled in other apps such as TrueSpace4, some can't. Sometimes the materials in the model isolate such things as the body, and that can be made to disappear within the Render/materials menu in Poser. As a final resort, I have used transparency maps for selected car parts to "cut" a hole or a part away to provide a view of the interior.

Duddly has a couple of Poser cars with detailed interiors in Free Stuff (a '57 Chevy convertible and a '69 Mustang); he's also working on a very detailed '66 Mustang GT for the Marketplace, which will have no commercial restrictions on use.

you can also use the group tool to remove any polygon you don't want.highlight what you want to keep then create new prop.save to library.

The 66 Mustang GT I am working on has all of the above and will be available in a couple weeks when I am done with it. The Boss 302 also has the majority of the details you are asking for but it is not available for commercial use. If this is for personal use or educational purposes (ie. not for sale) than I would recommend using the Boss 302.
