Time for another challenge RULES: -Render an image in poser - Post work is allowed -The theme of the challenge is a portrait of a humanoid. -Portrait: likeness of a person, especially one showing the face -Keep the file size under 175K -No more than one entry per person -Can not be a project started before this posting - The winner of this challenge will select the topic of the next challenge -The last day for entries will be 4:00pm Monday May 21st CST (using renderosity time) -Final images can be uploaded to a link found on the Challenges page in the "Poser Forum Resources" (not created yet) . . . This image is my poor attempt at a portrait. For some reason Vicky does not look happy. Below you can find better examples of portraits. I hope to have Poser experts pop in to the forum and give us some advice on making our portraits look better. Please feel free to post any WIPs here in the Poser Forum. . . . Here is a gallery posting by SnowSultan showing one method in creating hair in postproduction. You may create hair however you wish (props, figures, transmaps, postproduction, etc) http://www.renderosity.com/viewed.ez?galleryid=180769&Start=1&Sectionid=1&WhatsNew=Yes :) Here are some examples of portraits I found on one page of the Poser Gallery By Stormi http://www.renderosity.com/viewed.ez?galleryid=180767&Start=1&Sectionid=1&WhatsNew=Yes by brianstalin http://www.renderosity.com/viewed.ez?galleryid=180776&Start=1&Sectionid=1&WhatsNew=Yes by rhisiart http://www.renderosity.com/viewed.ez?galleryid=180762&Start=19&Sectionid=1&WhatsNew=Yes MGSkaggs http://www.renderosity.com/viewed.ez?galleryid=180718&Start=19&Sectionid=1&WhatsNew=Yes Goodluck to all and have fun smerc

Forgot the image As you can see I need help creating hair. I personally have trouble getting transmaps to look good, so I do most of my hair in Photoshop. The makeup is non-existant except on the eyelids. Maybe to much around the eyes :) Oh, don't forget the glowing nostrils smerc

DARN! smerc, why would you have to do this after I just nearly perfected my self-portrait?!?!?!

Remember, kids! Napalm is Nature's Toothpaste!

Please forgive this little rant but here we go. Just frustrated that probably 85-90 percent of poser stuff I see would fit under the portrait category :) Single person head and shoulders or maybe full body .. portrait .. Anyway .. Might do this still :) One thing is that it might be hard to sort all the portrait people unless you put that in the name of the thing. "Poser Challenge WIP" or soemthing .. Just a point .. anyway ..

smerc, You know those little "troll" dolls from 40 years ago? I understand that they are very collectable now. ::running very fast:: Carolly

Is that what they mean by wearing a rug? ...still it's a better job than my attempts at creating hair in Photoshop!

Are you talking a self portrait or something that looks like an actual person? Does it have to be all self made textures, hair, etc???

Humankind has not woven the web of life. We are but one thread within it.

Dave-So It can be a portrait of anything as long as they are humanoid (looks like a human, elves, angels, etc). There are no restrictions on the textures or hair. Homemade, purchased or freebies doesn't matter. smerc

Smerc, you did know that the image of mine that you linked to was a joke, right? If reading that tutorial helped you to paint hair better, I give up. ;) SnowS Hoping his pictures are worth 1001 words.
