This was just posted over on the list by the President of Eovia. Mark Bremmer Dear Dreamers! A little less than 12 months ago, Eovia released the first version of Carrara Studio (V1.1). Those who have followed my posts to the list know that Carrara Studio 2 should now come soon. I can now officially confirm that. Carrara Studio 2 will be released in June 2002. The engineering team at Eovia, with the help of the beta testers, is currently giving the final touch to the product. Carrara Studio 2 is the first version of the product developed from A to Z by the Eovia team. You will soon discover that we have added features never seen before at our level of price! I will not disclose the full feature list today but will reveal a few important information (the feature list will be announced next week). Carrara Studio 2 is now coming in three versions: - MacOS X - MacOS 8 and 9 - Windows (98, NT4, 2000, ME, XP) The two last are already known. But the first is a news. Carrara Studio 2 has been entirely ported to MacOS X. It now runs natively on the new Apple OS. The MacOS X version also introduces a major new feature for the Mac: multiprocessor support (already available in the Windows version). As promised, Eovia is pursuing its aggressive price policy. More than ever Carrara Studio 2 has the best feature VS price ratio of the industry. The price for new users remains unchanged: US$399.00. Eovia customers will benefit from a very incentive upgrade price (also revealed next week). Because more and more are upgrading to Carrara Studio, MetaCreations customers (Carrara 1, Ray Dream and Infini-D) are not forgotten. They will also have a special upgrade price. I can also confirm that Carrara Studio 2 remains compatible with these previous products. So, what will you find in Carrara Studio 2? Better modeling, the most wanted animation feature, the most sophisticated rendering technology available today and more! More details are coming very soon. Meanwhile and as usual: Happy rendering to all! Antoine Clappier Eovia Corp President and CEO
