My office is going to Mac OS "X"
Undoubtedly my trusty Metacreations RayDream 5.5 studio will probably not handle this "upgrade"....

Question: Does Carrara function in Mac OS X ? (I suppose that means "10")

I see no mention of it at their web page.

Thanks!

For the stuff I do on the Mac I've been running it under OS X without any problems, but I'm mostly a PC guy so I haven't worked it that hard. Mostly I just load test files I've built on the PC and see if they load and/or render correctly. Carrara V2 will be OSX native when it comes out (around 2 months I guess, we'll know next week).

Our offices have been running OSX for 4 months with no problems. Applications that require OS 8.5 or 9x work great in OSX classic mode. (at least we haven't run into any problems yet!) As a matter of fact, some of the programs seem to actually be more stable in OSX classic than in the native OS.

I have not had good scuccess running Carrara under Classic mode in OSX. I get very strange graphics glitches that make it unusable. It is not a big deal though as it takes a mear 20 seconds to reboot into 9. I alos find that Classic apps run much, much slower on my system then they do in Native os9. I am using a Dual 450 G4 with 1GB RAM. I think part of the problem is my stock ATI RAGE128 PRO AGP card. I will be putting in a new ATI Radeon 8500 with 64MB ram when I get the moolah together. -PAG
