The Mac patch is supposed to be 8.1 megs--I finally stopped the damn thing at 10.3 megs. Is the Mac patch bigger than 10 megs or is my browser downloading several megs of garbage to my hard drive!

Just dl'd the MAC patch & it is 8.2 meg. Transfered @ around 80KB/sec so took less then a couple minutes (digital). I used I.E. 4.5 for browser.

Which version did you load - MacBinary, .sea or .sit? There should be no big difference, but maybe one of them is spoiled...?

Well I let it run it's course. It ended up as a 13.04 meg file. I haven't done anything with it yet. (it's late, I'm going to bed) But it seemed to unstuff fine, no error msgs yet. I'll keep you informed. James

Thanks! Will--which patch--the patch at "ghostworks" or the "scarab" site? The "scarab" patch is the beta 7 patch, and as far as I know, the most recent. Martin, the beta 7 patch at http://scarab.metacreations.com/poser/pdwn.htm can only be downloaded in one format--a .sit file. I suspected that I was downloading something else after the file crept past the 9.1 meg mark. JSchoen--let me know how it works. If its just a big file, then I'm not too worried about it. I was afraid that my computer was pulling in garbage and I'd end up with 20 or 30 megs worth of useless crap.

Well it seems to be only "just a big file" I guess whomever stuffed it did something wrong. it downloaded at 13.5 as i said, set up an install folder and the installation ran fine. But all-in-all I have installed it and so far, no big crashes and or nothing staring me in the face that seems wrong. hair seems to be going on the head, clothes seem to be conforming. I still get a texture or bump map can't be found every once in awhile. (But that happened anyway). So far, so good . I hope I don't jynx it. ;-) Remember guys and gals, we are talking about the MAC version here. (just in case) James

I downloaded it and it works fine. The downloads window of IE didn't give me a file size, so I thought something was corrupted. Thanks for letting me know it was a larger file than advertised.
