I'm guessing it's probably a skillful post render touch-up. If such a thing really existed we would have heard something. I would be first in line.

No touch up, I modified the model of Allerleirauh's beautiful hair somewhat, as well as modified the (color) texture.

I'm going to make some hair for my BBay collection, soon as I get the current project finished, I've got some more things I want to try. I've actually done two sets of hair already, but neither came out as nice as Allie's, though the second was pretty close- I've now learned what not to do, which is normally about half the battle in 3D modeling! Hair is really tough, my enginner background keeps wanting me to model it strand-for-strand, but that isn't going to work until we get Pentium 10,000s!
