Excuse me for the size and quality of this rendering (the reason why I have not posted this in Vue gallery). This is due to the fact my Vue prog is no more working (so I have not improved my previous WIP). I don't know exactly the reason for the moment (hardware or virus). I'm not able to render pictures with rendering time longer than 20 minutes (after a random time computer freeze when I use Vue or other memory/disk software consumers). My Vue (2.1) worked well since 1 year. Hope I will soon find a solution. Anyway, the pieces were made in Amorphium 1.0, board frame was made with terrain Vue. Whole scene rendered in 800x600 in final mode, then reduced to 400x300 to show something decent (6 minutes to render ! and no crash). Spot Light is only 2 soften. Otherwise I used the technique of demi-sphere with a picture mapped to simulate the presence of an "environment" ![Message671424.jpg](http://www.renderosity.com/photos/Message671424.jpg)![Message671424.jpg](http://www.renderosity.com/photos/Message671424.jpg)![Message671424.jpg](http://www.renderosity.com/photos/Message671424.jpg) Yves

A very interesting piece of work. I like playing chess and I never say No to someone asking for a match. It would surely be interesting to have a "real" chess-board like this. Which one is the bishop? It seems like black is winning, there are 7 black figures but only 6 white. When I look longer at the picture, it reminds me of the good old "Battle Chees" series. Im sure your board would look nice, too when its animated. But its also a good scene for a still. BTW: Why are you playing on the ground? ;-) Maybe I should post a nice chess-table... (Just kidding...). Anyhow: Most unusual chess-figures Ive ever seen, maybe well see your complete set of "Astro-Chess" (Or however you call that unique set of figures) one day at the market place...

heyas; try turning off your antivirus before you go to work in vue. i had a devil of a time trying to get one scene to render, and e-on told me to kill norton so it could get done. just don't connect to the web while you're unprotected, there. :)
