If anything you should max out on ram and a good Vidio card. I run a Gateway 500meg pentIII with 512 of ram and a 64 meg vid card,10 gig hard drive with a 30gig slave drive for a total of 40 gig and all my grafics programs run fine. the above should be fine with a little aftermarket add-ons like a slave hard drive and more ram.

Very good advice. However I would add a bigger hard drive in lieu of the better graphics card. Go for at least a 40Gb. If you do a lot of 3d gaming then the better card will be of more use to you. The sad thing is that unless you are into the 3d gaming and running stuff like OpenGL then all you really need is about 8 Mb (should handle 1280x1024 in 24 bit colour depth display) to handle even the most advanced 2d image app.
Pass no temptation lightly by, for one never knows when it may pass again!

i agree, u will definantly need more ram...i suggest at least 512MB. its really cheap nowadays anyway so thats no biggy. also get a graphics card, like a GeForce3 Ti300 or a Ti500 if u got the cash for it. hard-drive space is a matter of opinion, high quality scans for photoshop alone can take like 100-250mb each, then the edited document another 100mb or so. poser saved files usually are around 50mb each and so on....i'd suggest a 40gig or so. other than that u should be pretty set with what u picked out. i am running an Athlon XP 1400+, 512MB 266mhz DDR Ram, GeForce 2 GTS (i know, i gotta upgrade) and an 80gig Ultra-DMA133, 7200rpm HD (never came even close to filling it). and i am using the same programs u meantioned above and everything renders pretty smoothly on my machine, even volumetric worlds in bryce i can render in less than 3hours.

Bryce is not video card dependent, though other programs are. Get the fastest processor you can. I'm running an AMD 1.4g. Also, lots of ram. I'm doing ok with 512ddr, but more is better for importing large models.

me no like AOL.(You can get the sasme deal with MSN) 512 mb ram. MINIMUM. 60 gb hard drive or better. 1.6 ghz (still too slow.) xp is ok if you take a week or so to learn what you're doing before you try to transfer all your files.uses(128m ram.) nvidea 32mg video. sound blaster live 1.6. check out the superstores such as best buy to see what kind of deal they can give you to custom build yer computer(prepare to wait a couple of weeks for delivery.) you ever see the comercials for gateway ?? how come they give an obviously female cow a male voice?

I have heard that Athlons are faster than Pentiums when using bryce, but you might want to ask Corel what's the best processor for Bryce to be sure. Also for the bryce render you don't need a fast videocard, because bryce only uses the processor for that. As for RAM more is always better. I don't know about poser and videocards, but I think a videocard with good 2D-performance is great for photoshop. But than again a good videocard like a geforce 3 or 4 is always very good, for games, your openGL-views and other 3Dsoftware.
