Hi everybody.. ^__^ is there a way so that I can make a better transition between materials? Just imagine: I make a terrain made of sand and want to place there a mountain.. even if it is in the distance, you can see the sharp end of the texture. Up to know the only way round I found was doing some postwork.. but.. there must be another way.

http://www.landshapes.btinternet.co.uk/index1.htm and take a look at the Beginners guide to more realistic Coastal Edges. Sorry, it's in frames and I can't be more specific. Or read http://www.bryceanworlds.com/pages/tips_tricks.html, Necati's tutorial on terrains and textures.

clue: I'm in a FOG and can't seem to realize the SCALE of this MATERIAL nor the Forest for the TREEs. A SHADOW is CLOUDing my mind. (sorry couldn't figure out how to use BOOLEAN INTERSECTION or BOOLEAN SUBTRACTION in a sentance.) Message671422.jpg one of those moody nights.

Give the textures a worldmap orientation.

Hi, Ragnar: I use a Sand plane, Mountain terrain, and Water plane and then a second Mountain terrain the foreground. Then I push my mountain in the background, then I lower my sand plane, go to E for Erode (hold down the button until you are satisfied), hit spikes 3 or 4 times, then hit smooth once or twice. This should change the Mountain into small rocks and mounds and eroded cliffs. Then the most pleasing part: add the water plane and raise or lower it until YOU are pleased. Oh, another thing you can do it to Under Edit (above) use the tilt sphere to raise or lower your terrain or what is really neat is the sand plane this gives you a BEACH. Hope this helps. Or check out my gallery in Lightpen. Best of luck, really!!

You could also make your own terrain maps (photoshop) or boolean 2 maps together( there was a post in this forum last month about boolean terrains - or was it the tech forum?).
