I was wondering..now that c2 is announced if anyone here who is testing can answer any questions at all? I know on the yahoo groups beta testers are getting ready to post pictures now.... My big question is now that C2 supports subdiv modeling do we now use Quads or Triangles? IE c1 demanded that everything be triangulated to work properly, where Amapi demands that everything be quadrangulted for best results. the other one is can you move the control cage points around and still see the subdiv object move? or do you have to move the point, subdiv, undo, move the point, sub div etc... They have a pic on the eovia web page but I can't see anydetail in the modeler :(

The details yesterday did not have clickable pictures... But wow today most of the pics are clickable. Except of course the ones I really want to see, the interface and new modeller.

You know it almost makes me think that they are hiding something....but hey..at $150 bucks I will probably take the gamble.

Well it's still weird that this close to going gold they havnt been forth coming with the info. I am not saying that they have anything to hide, but now isnt really the time to be secrative as to how things work. I never agreed with eovia's policy of not telling us about whats coming, but it made sense. I just don't see any justification about holding back the new info any longer. Good news is the price is cheap, and I will definatly be upgradeing. Come on Litst...Post up some stuff !!! :) -brent

I'll try to answer your question, Brent . For subdivision surfacing, polygons can have the number of sides you want . But when it comes to skinned models, it's probably better to work with quads if you don't want to see the triangulation changing when you move a limb . Not completely sure about it though, i'd need to test it . You can edit your model while subdivision surfacing in on, no problem . It makes modeling much faster :) Also, my last word about it : the algorithm is absolutely perfect for organic models ! I've been able to add wrinkles, spots or this kind of details very easily . Too cool . I hope it answers your question . litst
