Is it possible to selectivly make certian objects not show shadows, and not their own shadow, but the shadows of other things on them. For example, I'm trying to create a mist effect with multiple textures and transmapped squares. But objects between the squares throw shadows against the squares that just should not be there in a fog. In think fog you can pretty much turn off shadows, but does anyone know how to get around this effect? Thanks, Paul

heyas; not in poser. you can tell lights not to cast shadows (at all), but you can't set materials' abilities to cast or recieve shadows. however, if you're working with mist/fog, you could try messing with the ambient colour. instead of having the ambient be black, make it the colour you want your fog to be. the ambient colour defines the colour of the material in shadow, so this may eliminate shadow visibility in your fog. so, okay, maybe it can be done in poser. :) i'm not sure, though, so try it out and report back!

Select an object, and from the Object menu choose Properties. There's an option to disable shadows. This prevents the object from casting shadows; shadows can still be cast onto the object.
