Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 29 7:57 am)
Renaming the filename extension from within Windows Explorer should do the trick. BVH files are nothing but text, anyway; just open them in Wordpad and take a look. You don't actually need to change the filename extension; Poser will import them as-is, although they won't appear by default in the Open dialog, since it'll be looking for .bvh rather than .txt.
It's interesting to see that people on PCs are having a similar problem to us Mac folk regarding bvh files. On the Mac we're downloading bvh files that don't retain the text document attribute. They come in as "generic" documents which MUST then be converted to text documents in order for them to work at all in Poser. On the PC you're downloading text documents that won't automatically open in Poser without first changing their extension to ".bvh". Oh, the joys of computing!!! :-)

In the explorer choose the folder option from the tools menu. Go to the tab view and uncheck the hide extensions from kwon file type. After that you can change txt to bvh without the explorer rename it to bvh.txt Be care after that you will be able to change anything to anything. Guy P.S: Explanation provides for win2000 for other that may be change.
thanks all for your input
