So, the mods have come to their senses, to their considerable credit, and invited me to re-post my little faerie image, "Joy." Thanks to them for ultimately acting like human beings; really, except for the one threatening email, they've been very civil and professional through the whole process. And thanks to you-all, the members, for voicing your opinions and lending your support. As Spike said, in his last email to me: "as you can see, we do listen to the members."

Thank you to the mods! This was a wise decision, and much appreciated. Nothing commands respect like the willingness to change a decision publicly. :] FishNose

One more thing: I thought about taking down "For the Mods," since they've ultimately done the right thing. But I decided to leave it up as a little reminder.

Like we're gonna forget ;] I don't have a problem with 'For the Mods'. It will help us to keep things in perspective perhaps. K.

And I should also have said: thanks Mosca for posting such a supportive message.

I'm glad this worked out!
For future reference though, does this mean that the TOS will be altered to reflect that:
Artwork that includes common mythical creatures (such as fairies, pixies, or cupids that are traditionally represented as having a more youthful appearance in Western Art) will not be considered inappropriate under the "child pornography clause" as long as there is CLEAR indications that these are said creatures - in other words, their pointed ears and/or wings are unquestionably visible.
I ask this not to beat a dead horse but to prevent future re-occurance. As I said before, I don't envy the Mods - they have to walk a fine line and no doubt it's quite uncomfortable at times. If we clarify this in writing (and yes, I know some of you will say, "Oh no, more rules") it may make it easier in the future.
Child pornography is EVIL. Pixies and fairies are just a little mischevious.
Before they made me they broke the mold!

Likewise my image is back up: Not a great image by any means, but some work did go into it. Let's hope this one is resolved. :)Truth has no value without backing by unfounded belief.

I'm glad it worked out - in looking at the restored version though, I would venture to say it was probably the pert, long nipples that caused a reaction... I would guess that state is not normally associated with a youngish figure nor mere innocent, situational nudity. But it's a nice image - the brouhaha and Mosca's clever follow up images were the most fun though. : )

3ddave: glad to see you took a good, close look.

...well you can't miss em. (I am on a big monitor though) But I hope you didn't think I was being critical; they're there - I didn't put them there but for the sake of understanding the situation for now, for future, I ventured a cause; considering we have the original to see now. That's all. not meant as anything more. : )

I, for one, am glad for the reconsideration and reposting of the images...as one being against censorship in the arts. I congratulate the community for taking up arms against the matter, and also the moderators for listening and re-evaluating their initial decision to censor.
