I'm trying to make a helmet for a sci-fi character in Bryce. I've got it just the way I want, but File -> Export Object is greyed out. I am new to Bryce. Can anyone recommend a good tutorial or words of advice on exporting objects? -Viper1

Search the boards for exporting, this question is asked every few weeks. Basically only stone, lattices, and terrains can be exported from Bryce unless a mesh from another program has been imported into Bryce and no Bryce primitives have been added to it then the mesh can be exported. Boolean objects only work in Bryce because it doesn't change the mesh at all, it's part of the render engine so they don't work in other programs.

i havnt seen your helmet (as they say) but you might be able to altitude render half of it and convert it into a lattice - just a thought

Looks like I'll be doing more reading the manual and experimenting.

Perhaps I could altitude render it in parts and then parent them together in Poser.

Hmmm. I'm beginning to think it would be the better course to leave the helmet until I import the posed figure into Bryce and then position it on the figure.

Looks like you modeled that with that Bryce Primitives...which means it isn't exportable. Sad but true, that is a true Bryce weakness. Yes, definetly just leave it in Bryce and then merge it onto your Poser models later, as you bring them into Bryce. Maybe in Bryce 6, this will not be a problem... AgentSmith
