Okay, I have a feeling this is nothing new. It's "baby's first texture". I modified one of T_Aulbach's textures because a magazine cover screamed "texture map" at me. (I think I saw one of my esteemed colleagues on the Forum try something like this already) I decided to try it with Bushi's eyes and found that they worked best with the cornea highlight set at 18 percent. Otherwise I got a cloudy zombie effect. Someone said you could get a better likeness with a texture and no morphs than you could with morphs and no texture. No special morphs here, a few minor tweaks. No retouching around the eyes at all. Sorry about the "chocolate candy" hair. I'm using a temporary bump map and I know of no transmap for this. (feathered the bangs with motion blur). The nose isn't really mapping yet.

This is getting very realistic when you keep putting some work in it! Beat me, if it's not Winona Ryder. You were glad to get a evenly lit frontal face photography, I'm looking for that all the time. The pupils seem a bit too big, and the mouth shape has to be adjusted to fit the texture. Maybe the nose needs some tweaking, too. I can't remember her face exactly, though. I'm very curious about the result! It'd be lovely if you would share it with us!

WHEN YOU FINISH, I WANT A COPY!!! ;) Seriously, you've definately got a very good likeness of Winona Ryder, going there! The one part that bothers me are the scleras, (the white part of the eyes). They seem a bit...muddy. It could just be the lighting angle, I don't know. But, it's looking good overall. BTW: the highlights look fine.

A very nice piece of work Talos, and an excellent likeness of Winona Ryder. A few tweaks (the mouth needs to be modified to match the mesh and the whites of the eyes need "whitening") and that will be one hell of a texture. Paul

GASP! Talos good.. Talos friend... Talos share?

Sure Ikyoto, don't worry. I'll share it with everybody if they want it. There isn't much to it. It's just a matter of finding evenly lit frontal face photography, trial and error, and lost sleep. This is still very rough, and I have to make a laundry list of things to fix, like the yellow scan lines and the lips not matching. Bushi's eyes are cool, but they do tend to make the whites too dark. Maybe I'm not using them right. The texture looks much better on regular Poser eyes, and you can see the scanned irises better. This was mainly a test of the "texture only" theory, but it probably could use some morphs. -Talos

I've done a Barbara Eden texture (it's in the free stuff now as part of the zip), and on my site is the Claudia Schiffer for the WWG. I love doing stuff like this! I have been trying to re-create Jennifer Connely for over a year and am no where near happy with the face mesh yet - But I'll keep working on it!

That's exciting! I adore Jennifer Connely. I've got a great picture of her somewhere, geat lighting, fantastic eyes. Perfect texture map material. Maybe you've seen it. Slowly making progress on Winona. (still wondering what would be the best Winona morphs) I'm planning a Jennifer Connely texture if you don't have one yet. I'm not sue I know how to upload to Free Stuff or anything, cause I don't have a website. Hope I don't have to email the darn thing to everyone. (not funny) I will have to take a look at your Barbara Eden and Claudia Schiffer really soon! -Talos

Ikyoto's Barbara rocks! What a sweet lady is the fair Barbara Jean Huffman from Tucson Arizona. Finally had time to check her out. I shall do a beguiling render and post her to the gallery at earliest convenience. (Is there a morph for Sandra Bullock?) -Talos

You make me blush... The hardest part is knowing what these people look like on screen and then trying to get their counter parts in Poser to appear the same - a lot has to do with the apiture of the camera. I have been doing "scultping" of the faces with it set at 105mm to match the portrait cameras most professionals use.

Talos, There is a pretty reasonable Sandra Bullock available at the Fairy woods site. The URL is http://members.xoom.com/renapd77/ Pugwash
