Thanks bud. I'm kind of addicted to the idea of transparencies and reflection maps at the moment.. blush.. so I'm going a bit overboardL.. I tried the pic without the ribbon and it seemed somewhat empty.. as for the nudity thang.. it's all too easy just to take a model and press render and post it up calling it a nude.. where's the challenge?L.. anyway. I keep those ones for myselfLOL...

The only thing that is to easy is to make a nude look plastic. There is a skill involved to make a 3D model look real. Dolphin- I've been going through an "Idea Free Zone" myself and it sucks. I use NENE myself- It's one of my favorite characters :)

You know....I have been getting ALOT of inspirational ideas from zbrush central. If poser is becoming passe to you, why not check them out....www.pixolator.com. all of a sudden cg is fresh to me again. now, if i could only figure out the ins and outs of zbrush i'd be great... or, just another kinda tacky. For the epitome of tackiness, there is a website devoted to clothing made out of... duct tape. They have photos showing wedding parties and prom-dresses made completely from the stuff. I believe that there are contests, too. When woven out of the pure silver tape, it is quite handsome, with a nice mat sheen. Really. When laced with the red and green rolls into tartan-type patterns, it goes all the way over to triple-tackiness, though. If you are running short on ideas, why not try the various contests? From Shangri-La to the filthy swamps surrounding the Dark Lord/Lady there should be something which niggles at the brain. Or, what is your favorite band? Nine Inch Nails, White Snake, Iron Butterfly, Dead Can Dance, Silly Wizard? Just the names conjure up images. :) Carolly

dang...stuck in my head...head like a hole...black as your soul.....oops....old tacky song that reminds me of a clown from the old days... but...but...but... gotta run, 'cause i'm busy savin' up my foodstamps, burnin' down the trailer park and, after that, gonna pop a cap in sanchez, 'cause, i wanna know...ireally wanna know, i wanna know, who's got mine. :*)

and the words of the prophet are written on the subway walls... and tenement halls... and whispered in the sounds of silence.

If you want a great excuse to do tacky pix, start illustrating the Song Of Songs aka Solomon's Song from the Bible. Arguably the world's most erotic poetry - I'm serious!

I love this - and I thought the recreational catapulters took the prize for creative wackiness. There's always something else...

tackiness "is in the eye of the beholder" . . . or is that beauty? creativeness is elusive - like a dog running off with a barbequed duck.
hauksdottir posted Wed, 17 July 2002 at 3:26 PM
Dolphin, If anything it proves that you can take even the unlikeliest of materials and turn them into something useful or trashy or surprisingly elegant. All it takes is a creative mind and lots of elbow grease (or the fat from that barbecued duck? ::chuckle::). Carolly
