I was tryingto create an animation of a plane using the smooth take off path, that came with bryce, but every time I align the airplane model with the path, it flips the plane upside down and backwards, any ideas on why ?

just flip the plane back and add a keyframe, I think that'll work. I haven't tried it though because my brycestation is still rendering on my 69:17 second 25 fps animation.

I figured it out, I want to align a bi-plane that I made, however the biggest thing on it is a cone facing backwards...when I align it to the path, it turns the whole group around. Any ideas on how to fix it ? I played for a bit, but I'm stumped.

In the attributes window o fthe object that tracks the path, go to the "Linking" tab (I think it's linking, it's the center one.) There are options for which axis tracks the path. I believe that Z positive is the default. Set yours to Z negative (or whichever it needs to be so it isn't rotated or flipped), and that ought to solve the problem.

Put a sphere ahead of the plane and make it invisible. Put the sphere on the path and link the plane group to the sphere. That might work.

You could take an object that is not facing backwards and then make it the parent of all the other objects in your plane. (To do this select the parent object and call it parent or sometihing like that. Then all the other objects you don't want to parent to it and the parent object. Now invert the selection and set this selection to be the child of the parent-object. Align the parent object to the path. This might work. My bryce-station is still rendering (and will be rendering for the next 7,5 days) so I didn't try it yet, but it sounds logical enough to me to work.

From memory as i am not at my bryce computer Bryce tends to align objects along it's Z axis so either use a small null object hidden inside your model which your model is linked to, then move that object along the path or re-align your model outside of bryce say in 3Ds resave then it should align properly Hope this helps also hope my memory serves me well as it is a while since i had this problem Cheers pigat
