what do you mean not allowed to mention your site's name? is this another (possibly) silly rule that's been put in place to upset us all? Rob.

It makes you wonder what's happening in the Poser World doesn't it?

By the latest TOS rules... subscriptions sites are not allwoed to announce their content as they are considered commercial! Therefore I'm not allowed to include NEITHER the logo of our site, nor say which one it is or even mention that these items are available now there OR -even worse - dare to add a link pointing there! ... I'm NOT teasing anybody..just following Marsal orders as I said! VL grin Sure makes you wonder about freedom of speech over the ocean..doesn't it? VL grin Rena

these days there's no such thing as freedom, let alone freedom of speech looks nervously round in case a mod is watching :p Rob

Manikin Flesh, yeah it does. I expect poserworld is as busy and active as poserworld always is. Of course, poserworld sometimes is even more interesting than usual, especially when poserworld goes into closet-cleaning mode. But guess youll have to go and check for yourself.

I remember 'back when': This was a community for and by the people; There was no store...that was established, as I remember, more or less by the members who wanted to help support the site and keep it going during financial problems; Moderators were more editorialists than wardens. ...but it is still a nice place to visit, I just wouldn't want to live here.

I take it this latest TOS is not up yet.. cos I just read the one I could find, and theres not a single mention of what you've been told Rena.... strange that.

Kaibach.. contact a search in this forum about the TOS update announcement.. and you'll get filled in to details! :o) One word was added suddenly overnight to the previous text, but enough to keep all subs sites out of here as well as their update announcements! :o)

Don't worry about the TOS - I'm sure the mods will modify their viewpoint (no pun intended!), they usually make sound decisions, although sometimes on the second try rather than the first (I usually get there somewhere around tenth try myself LOL). And either way, Rena, your stuff needs no commercials - heck, you don't even need to put your name on it. This kind of quality has a certain greek lady written all over ;o)

Thanks Thip! :o) But as I'm sure you know yourself too, it's not commercial but showing off our work which we take so much pleasure in! :o) You're part of a great such resource yourself as well and since same rules as mine apply to you, I think it's a shame you can't show it off freely as well and let far more people and newcomers know of the great stuff you have to offer as well! :o) Rena

course if you show it somewhere else, the people will flock there instead and rosity may lose out in the long run. Rob

A clown carrying a dufflebag stuffed with candy walks into a classroom filled with children. The clown opens the bag and shows the contents to the kids. "Who wants candy?" the clown asks, and the kids begin screaming "WE DO!!!" "Fine," says the clown. He closes the dufflebag and leaves the room. As he walks out, he tells the kids "if you really want candy, ask mommy and daddy to buy you some."

This is good, you can show your items here but you can't say where they are or that they are available.....UNLESS you sell through rosity. so much for the community spirit that was at the centre of everything that this site and others were created around and for. Rob (rulebreaker 1st class)

Hey! I think the Poser world (Renderosity) is fine! Some of you are getting awful annoying and approaching trolldom. Every chance you get, pick, pick, pick. I can think of some very good reasons why the rules are in place that renapd is flaunting. Can you? There is a specific place in Renderosity for things commercial ($). Those of us who are interested can go to the commercial areas, and I do...often. I don't want to have to go through ads veiled or otherwise to find what I want in the Poser Forum. Instead of criticising why not offer suggestions for improvement in the appropriate area. If you've got a better way become an admin, moderator, or start your own board. But, please quit your whinning!

Nobody's whining...we just ask for what we've been promised a month ago..a radio button that appeals to all interested parties as discussed in a thread more than 120 post long a month ago! :o) As for the "commercial" tag..I'm sorry but I will insist objectiong to! :o) It's not commercial when you charge a yearly fee to cover your extreme bandwidth and offer bundles...commercial is when you sell ONE item even at the lowest price of 5 bucks! :o)
-renapd- posted Mon, 20 May 2002 at 11:03 AM Site Admin
and oh Freakachu... tell your clown to revise his last line to more accuracy! :o) "Tell your mommy and daddy that are some lunatic clowns out there that will offer you the whole candystore for the cost of a big chocolate bar!" :o) And there are plenty more extremely talented, not just us.. like Thip's & JoeDelegro's site as well as Katharina's that most of the marketplace texturers have bought a license to use her textures and sell INDIVIDUALLY after modification.. it just so happens that we give the bad example to the "commercial" attitude so popular around the Poser World lately! :o) So there's is a big difference! :o)
