sorry godspeed, i suck at writing tutorials, i usually lose people in my way of explaining things so i gave up on doing them about 2 years ago, brycetech has some good tutorials, and there are some good tutorials in the tutorial section here for poser as well ( http://www.renderosity.com/tutorial.ez?Sectionid=7 ) i don't know if anyone has written up anything on what files go where. I tend to save the paths to the zip file to try to save the people the trouble of figuring that out, so they can just unzip it to the poser directory and everything goes into there places. I know what you mean about the freebies though, alot of the freebie authors should take the time to put the paths in there zip files, I've accually skipped some nice looking freebies in the past because there weren't any paths or instructions where to put the files. they just seem to assume that everyone will automatically know where everything goes.

There's a tutorial on installing poser stuff in "Free Stuff":

The author also has several tutorials intended for beginners at his website: www.ronknights.com

Thanks for the recommendation, Little Dragon. I've added a few new tutorials to Free Stuff (You can download them!) This one might be of interest.Strangechilde posted Sun, 19 May 2002 at 8:18 PM
Most downloads include Readme files, and usually, those files will tell you where to put things to make them work, so that's the first place to look. It can be very hard figuring out all this stuff, but once you start to learn how all these files relate to each other, you'll find it much easier. The Poser manual is limited, but it is worth a read-through. I must say, though, I went through all the tutorials step by step when I first bought my seconhand copy of Poser 2, but I didn't learn as much as I did from online tutorials and helpful people. Don't expect to be completely facile with the program right out of the box-- the program is deceptively easy to use, while there are a wealth of subtle and not so easy things you can do with it to get truly lovely results. Do check the tutorials here. There are many that cover precisely the areas that the Poser manual fails to cover at all or in sufficient detail. And do stick around! This community loves to see new people and new ideas!

My best suggestion...HIDE YOUR CREDIT CARDS NOW!!!!! ~EA

ElectricAardvark, I see you're familiar with the first stage of the Poserholics 12-step plan:
Step 1: Take out your wallet, then remove the cash and credit cards. Say goodbye to them.
