You know how you build an model from the same master object? Well it seems that whenever I save a file then open it later, all those objects seem to have reverted to the oringal master object. I noticed this problem seems to have sprouted up after I installed Norton Systemworks but I can't be certain if this is the root of it. This seems to be happening to alot of my files. What could be causing RDS to do this? Is there anyway of getting around this problem??

I haven't really got it : what do you mean by "created from a master object" ? Fabien CREAFab, la crtion numique autrement...bh404 posted Sat, 25 May 2002 at 10:23 PM
Well in Ray Dream Studio whenever you duplicate an object, the object that's been duplicated from is referred to as the master object, even if you re-edit those duplicated object. Well the problem I have is all of those duplicated re-edited objects seem to change back into the master object (the very first object) that they've been duplicated from after I re-open the file. I'd show a screenshot regaurding this problem if I knew how to save one.

It's a weird problem ! I can't remember if I've ever had that kind of problem, but have you tried to create a new class when entering the new object ? Another way to solve this problem is to export the new object to another RDS file and then re-import it. This solution will keep all the textures in place and won't cause any mesh deformation. Keep me aware of the results ! About the screenshots, there are several ways to save the captured pictures : - if you have a special program to capture, there's no problem ; - if you don't, use the keyboard shortcut : ALT + PRINTSCREEN. Open your favourite 2D program and then use the "Paste" function. You will then be able to resize, cut and save your picture. Fabien 3D CREAFab, la crtion numique autrement...
