you're right - double click is replacing the selected figure, and "double check" on the bottom ADDs new figure - go figure (hehehe) to conform clothes to figures (characters) you need to choose "conform figure" from the menue. if your character has some individual body morphs or you scale body parts more than just a little, it is most likely that those body parts will pop out of the clothes. some clothes have already morphs to adjust to different character morphs, but mostly the don't. you can turn the protruding body part invisible, though...

Clothes are not easy to conform to anything else than the standard body shape of the character in question. You can play around with scaling the clothes or applying magnets to different areas of them. The most elegant solution is the software The Tailor (available in the Marketplace here) that allows you to transfer the morphs from your character to the clothes. The problem with the figure disappearing after double clicking on the clothes icon is something we all experienced. Make it a habit of always using the buttons below the icons in the right hand side menu: One check is replacing the figure with the one you selected in the menu, two checks is adding the figure.

Oh, I forgot: Another way of dealing with body parts visible throug the clothes is to make those body parts invisable: Open teh Hierarchy Editor (Window menu) and click on the "Eye" symbol in front of the body part that is the problem. It will then become invisible. This only works if that body part is not supposed to be visible somewhere else, of course!
