I ordered a Lensmate adapter for my digital camera last monday, and it just showed up in the mail today. This adapter will allow me to use the filters pictured above on the Powershot G2. The three filters in the foreground are the set of Hoya macro lenses. They can be stacked together for varying powers of magnification.

Of course, Murphy's Law being what it is, the adapter
showed up late in the afternoon and I have to go back to
work tomorrow, so I won't really get to play with the new
toys until Friday. :-)

Here's a close-up using all of the macro lenses stacked. Notice the chromatic abberation (smearing) at the edges of the frame. The focal point of this image was the letter 'H' in "HAZE", but I cropped the bottom off for a smaller file size.

Actually this looks pretty sharp to me. Are you sure your filters are working? Bsteph

wouldn't it have been easier to merly say "smearing" for all us un-edumacational types? Argah. How much did it cost ya if I may demand?

Your demand is my request, oh quilled one. They were $45
for the set (with attractive vinyl carrying pouch), which
in at least one Amazonian Cannibal Tribe's currency is an
arm and a leg.

WOW, a real vinyl carrying pouch.... I'm jealous! Jack ps...neat lenses, I'm thinking about a macro set for the c4040z, it's macro ain't all that hot....

damn, with 45$ you could've bought Arkansas...

I was thinking about buying Arkansas instead, but it's the
shipping costs that get ya.
