I have seen some beautiful underwater images on here lately which inspired my own effort. but need help with transmaps for the fish fins could not get a transmap to work on these poser fish. The manual was not very helpful at all. anyone know how to do it. The Caustics were done using a light gel over a parallel white light enlarged to the same size as the terrain. The gel was tiled x50 to get the scale right and the light power was set to 185 with hard edges. The weeds came from plant studio which I have not quite got the hang of yet. Has anyone seen any decent fish models out there anywhere Chris-S

I like the caustics.. no idea how to do transmaps.. Other than weeds and such, I'd also take a look at the sand texture.. The bottom in the foreground looks too even and regular.. might want to toss it up a bit. Just my humble little opinion. Rosh

Looks good Where did you get the plants? Somewhere I saw a free download of some reef aquarium props that might do in such a scene. I think it was from Codeman's webpage. I am about to try out that caustics tutorial myself... Which species of AngelFish is that? Looks like you might have found a new species! :-) Eric Walters

If you have a look here in the freestuff pages or on bbay.com I think there is a free poseable model of a clownfish. Also there are a few nice models at 3d Cafe, Avalon...http://avalon1.viewpoint.com/ Hope this helps Regards Eshal

The image is looking good so far, and Like the rest, I do like the caustic effect. A good fish is hard to come by. If thats the Poser/Zygote AngelFish, I have 3 different textures for him on my site, as well as a small variety of plants uu could use. Have you tried making a bump map for the sand? It looks good but it's a little flat looking, and maybe a couple more low and smooth terrains to give the floor a little more atmosphere. You have a great start on it. FastTraxx

Many thanks for the comments and critique Thank Rosh for your humble little opinion when I did the last render I thought it looked a bit boring. Eric that is the poser angel fish but he got slightly squished around in Max when I was trying to turn him into a cod :-) The plants were made using plant studio which is a good little app but you seem to need a degree in plant biology to know what it is on about half the time. Eshal Thanks for the fish pointers FastTraxx that sand is a bumpmap with sand color laid over it But I agree that it is very flat and way to regular great Idea about adding more terrains going to try that once I have sussed out the problems of the fin transmaps.
