As much as I would like to vote for the most technical, or the one that looks like it took the longest to do, I cant. I spent a good half hour looking at all the great entries for this month, and I must say, I am impressed! But, to cut to the chase, I will have to vote for johnpenn because of the humorus nature of the image, as well as great work on conveying emotion. so here it is again: johnpenn

I've been over these images several times and it is very hard to make a decision as everybody did such a great job!! I will have to cast my vote for Erlik.
mboncher posted Wed, 22 May 2002 at 8:34 AM
This was a hard choice for me, I was torn between two great pictures. In the end though, the speed, and urgency of one won me over. I cast my vote to Rochr.
Atomic_Anvil posted Wed, 22 May 2002 at 9:06 AM
Darn tough choice this month but my vote is cast for Erlik. Wish I could have voted for a "runner up".

So many great entries and so much talent in all - I'm torn here but I'm going to vote for Erlik.

Like some others, I was also torn between a few different images here. But, after thinking about them, comparing them more carefully, and deciding its best to just jump in and vote rather than dally; I cast my vote for the image that conveys a feeling of great space, which in and of itself is no small feat. It captures motion, demonstrates a testosterone-driven struggle (which seems to me what a duel is ultimately about), and the signature is applied in about the coolest way Ive seen a long while. My only criticism is that I wish there were more graffiti on the walls that somehow doesnt confuse the signature, if thats even possible... Anyway, I cast my vote for: Rochr

Very hard choice. I changed my mind in the last 15 minutes probably every second by watching at the works. Wonderful images are posted. I vote: dukduk ======= His image made me laugh, and I've to thank for. :) Take care, Jimi

Had a tough decision to make here! This is all truly great pieces of art with lots of effort behind them. The point of this challenge was to push our own abilities to max and get the most out of Bryce, and the one that really does it is Humorix piece. To create human characters within Bryce AND make them look this good, is pushing its limits to maximum and beyond. My vote goes to Humorix. (but i agree with Atomic Anvil about that runner-up...) :)

I wish it would be possible to vote for several runner-ups. Too many great works here. My vote goes to Aldaron.

Humorix, for technical excellence! Though the angle is a bit extreme. But too many great entries!
ND posted Wed, 22 May 2002 at 9:36 PM
Tough! Extremely tough to arrive on a decision! Finally settled for Humorix, though great work by all. I was particularly impressed by what ROCHR, ALDARON, VAQUEZ, ALLEYCAT have submitted! Very impressive work all and some great interpretations of the word duel!

I was stuck between alleycat alderon and erlik and even though Baron VR's plane was a triplane(hey maybe it was in the shop that day and this was a loaner) and the humans apear to be 9 feet tall ... I vote for Erlik.
Rayraz posted Thu, 23 May 2002 at 4:20 AM
My vote goes to ajtooley. There are several images wich got very close, but I think that the sense of action, the POV and the perfect use of DOF made ajtooley's image the best post. His image is a perfect example of the fact that you don't need huge scenes and comlpex models to make a great image. The Runner-up is: Humorix. His great modelling has made the decission very hard, but I found the image to be to static and the camera-angle is to extreme.

well... it's really hard... There are at least 5-6 images that I'll vote but... at the end my vote goes to ALLEYCAT169, I Love the colors and the shadows of his image. Honorable mention to humorix who made an incredible image, but it is out of scale, voting for him is too easy, I think that at this time noone other can manage primitives like Avi, he is several light year beyond of all of us...

okay... If I had known that there were people like humorix and vasquez out there who could do this kind of stuff with bryce alone... I probably would have stuck with doing art with a pencil and paper instead of this damned computer. :o) I feel so... what's the word.... oh, yes, inferior. After careful consideration, though, I'll have to vote for ALLEYCAT169. This image, too, shows great modelling skill, I love the theme and colors. Reminds me of those old B-grade movies my mom forced me to watch.
