Hello R'osity Peoples .. I'm a hobby guy who has been playing with Poser and most recently Bryce, many people have told me that Vue D'Espirt is generally the Renderer of choice for Poser images, this is due to an ease of import from pz3 files. Sitting down at the local Tech I was able to find a copy of Vue on their network (in the graphics lab) and armed with a zip disk full of poser files I attempted to import a scene of mine. (using load object) the central character came through perfectly, mats applied and rendered great. Problem: No hair, no background, no clothes, no wings .. It was as if I had imported the first object, now the reports I have gotten indicate that you can import a scene. My question (for those of you kind enough to accept) is .. Am I doing something wrong? can I import a complete poser scene? if so what am I missing? I dont want to buy something if it doesnt do any more then what I have, so this is why I turn to a forum full of experts/initiates/experienced users/people who have prodded the Vue box a few times

Just save your Poser scene as a Pz3 and import it to Vue 4.06-02 (the latest version of Vue). The backgrounds don't import, only the scene. Vue is originally a landscape generator what can do much more then only landscapes. Create your scene in Vue and then put your people in it:-). Once you have done so, you even can edit inside Vue the textures, transparencies and so fort. In the image above, I imported each figure separately, because it is easier to do so when you need to place the figures in a Vue landscape. But, you always can import a full scene, if you prefer to do so. gebe

Apologies, after doing some further investigation I discovered that it wasn't Vue D'Esprit not importing per-se but rather a Hair product that Vue seems to be ignoring. I imported with Daz Flip Hair, no problems, with Jim Burtons Las-Vegas hair the model came through with no hair at all .. I will investigate this further, but my thanks to Gebe for the reply, I know that I am on the right track now.

There are some hair models they even did not import properly (or not at all) into Vue 4.00. These are mostly hair created for the Poser PRO pack. E-on was working hard to get this out for us and in Vue 4.06-02, even high polygon hair from Poser imports fine now.:-) Guitta

I have pro-pak, and I've never had a problem importing anything into vue. the pz3's all import perfectly. Guitta, and that is without upgrading. ~wink~

I have pro pack also .. spent the money and then the deal to get Lightwave on the cheap fell through .. I might install that to see how it goes .. Either way, I put in an order for Vue last night at e-onsoftware. Looks like I might be visiting this forum more often from now on :-)
