I wish to know, though, where can I find more tutorials like this one?? I checked the tutorial section and I found tutorials to achieve certain effects, which I like, but I feel that I can benefit more from tutorials like the one you made that show how to build an entire object from scratch. If anyone can point me in the right direction, it will be greatly appreciated.
Oh yeah, and here's my light sabre. I didn't go all out with the lighting though...

No problem! One cool thing about this tutorial was that the subject was excellent. Not too hard, not too long and spanned a lot of different things. Does anybody have suggestions for another image they'd like me to cook up? I already have a plan for the next learning link but if you have something specific, I'll see if I can pull it off. Let me know, -Kix

ok.. you have the link you can click on here... but when you just go to the tut's area... it's not there.... not in the raydream/carrara folder? what's up with that? one other thing.... where can i get the plug in's in your tut? I got carrara from Metacreations and just downloaded the update when Eovia took it over. Are they downloadable??
Hexagon, Carrara, Sculptris, and recently Sketchup.

I agree, this tutorial is awesome and excellent for beginners. I had a lot of fun with it too. Now since you asked for other ideas, here are a few that might be good for quick start to finish tuts: - A simple 1 bulb coffe table lamp. You know those little ones that sorta look like a small squashed vase. Shade and bulb optional. - A oscilating desktop fan, especially the fan blade. - A two button optical mouse with that cool red glow on the base. - Ok how about the new iMac with base, swivel arm and flat screen. Ok Ok a few of these sound hard to me, but I am only learning to model and am not a pro like Kix. hehe What do you think? -Paul

thomllama ok.. you have the link you can click on here... but when you just go to the tut's area... it's not there.... not in the raydream/carrara folder? what's up with that? I only planned for the tutorial to stick around for about a month and then replace it with another one. The tutorial wouldn't die, it would go and live on the Carrara CD. I don't have a whole lot of space here at Rosity to host much stuff so I'm in rotation but the CD will house all this stuff forever. one other thing.... where can i get the plug in's in your tut? I got carrara from Metacreations and just downloaded the update when Eovia took it over. Are they downloadable?? Yes they are downloadable. They're part of the smart pack that came with the Metacreations version of C studio. Digital Carvers Guild had made these plug-ins originally and you could and still can get them. DCG has several plug-ins that are excellent and are also what I consider required for several kinds of things. They're sponsoring the current contest. Paul, The lamp sounds like a slam dunk. Believe it or not, I was also thinking about a butterfly (YES ANOTHER BUG!!!!!!!!!). Lamp it is. I need to get out of the bug business for a little while. I do need a butterfly for a project I'm chewing on and I'll just put that one up the next time. How about that? -Kix
