How do I convert .jpeg or other similar files into .bum files for use in poser?

When you are selecting your materials in Poser (go to render menu, select 'materials'), just load the .jpeg file in the bump section. Poser will ask if you want to convert it to .bum. Click okay and it will be done. Seems to me that some people have also mentioned that they open a cube prop, apply the .jpeg as the bump, Poser will ask for it to be converted and then the figure will load with it already converted. I think either way is fine. Diane B

Open Poser, go to Render, Materials, then load the .jpeg into the Bump map drop box, Poser will convert it into a .bum map for you. Sprout :O)

Sometimes it also helps to convert the full color image to a black&white image and increase the contrast before letting Poser convert it to a .BUM file.

I was looking at my files one day and discovered that my bum files were huge. One was 13mg! I've deleted them and just decided to convert them each time I use them so they don't take up so much disk space. Melanie
