Okay I'm working with Poser 3 on Windows 98 and it's all gone very strange. As long as I use a clean install with nothing added (boo) I can colour in the business womans jacket to my hearts content. If I try to do anything else (eg install the wonderful norn) it works the first time, until I leave the program. However, when I restart poser if I try to do anything except look at the default figure I get the following message... caught C.exception exception access_violation trapped at 167:1002ab8f What have I done wrong? Does anyone know how to fix this? Once I start getting this message, even if I remove anything I've added it still keeps coming up. I have to delete the whole program and start again. Am I doomed to pose only the stock Poser 3 figures forever? Hoping all you experienced posers can help...... (hanging head in shame, sure I've just done something dumb) yours desperately, Al

Al Make sure you have the latest windows98 patches or version. Same for Poser3. Ron

I'm pretty sure they have the Poser 3 patch at Curious Labs in their download section.

heyas; my guess is your poser.rsr has gotten clobbered. reinstall poser, make a copy of the poser.rsr for backup, and then write protect that file. however, try the other solutions, first; if you don't want to reinstall. if you got poser 3 from those free magazines, i think it has the latest p3 patch on it.

thank you very much ronmolina, gryffnn & bloodsong for your suggestions, they do indeed have a poser 3 update patch on curious labs website but it was the same one as the one that came with the magazine. So far no success. I'll figure it out eventually! Maybe it's a sign....I should run out and get poser 4 right now?
