Hi, I've just completed the survey for marketplace users, and have to choose my download, conforming thigh boots by Dark_Whisper, or Earvine prop by Blackhearted and Kiera. I don't know which to choose, has anyone chosen and got a pic they could show me please? Many thanks raven

Probably would have gone for the boots had I known exactly what it was....oh well, at least it was a free item and that's always nice. I thought it might actually be an ivy prop. Marque

not meaning to be stupid asking what is no doubt a painfully obvious question, but where is this survey?
Blazerwiccan posted Fri, 31 May 2002 at 1:59 PM
:) Not stupid at all. I got my survey emailed to me. As far as I know anyone who bought from the Market Place over the last year will get the survey emailed to them :)
Marque posted Fri, 31 May 2002 at 2:37 PM
Now I'm bummed...should have taken the boots. Sigh. Marque

Thank you very much for the example images, I was hoping someone had posted pics of the items when I finished the survey and still didn't know what to pick. ;) Take care! SnowS

Marque and Blazerwiccan, thanks for the pics. I'll make more use of the boots, so I chose them. Thanks again. mlevens, the survey was reached via a link in an email from the marketplace. Cheers, raven

Don't think many will choose the earring over the boots now that they've seen pics. I know I wouldn't have. Don't get me wrong the earring is nice, but I don't do enough closeups to make much use of jewelry. 8^) Next time I'll wait for pics, or maybe they will let us know on the page where you download. Did a search on both vendors and didn't see the earring or the boots. Marque
Tashar59 posted Fri, 31 May 2002 at 4:57 PM
Yep, would have picked the boots too, but what the hay, I like the earrings too so I can't complain. I think it was generous to give anything just for 1 minute of your time. Would have done the survey anyhow with/without gift. Tashar 59

This survey should be mailed to you if you've shopped in the marketplace recently? Hmm, I shop there more often than I'd like to admit and haven't received an email...
Marque posted Fri, 31 May 2002 at 7:16 PM
Yup, I would have done it as well, hope they don't change the store, I like it the way it is now. Marque

When were these mailed out? I haven't received one either... ~sniffle~

I'm worried about one question: Would you mind if we put in products with a non-commerical usage agreement? Hell, yes! I'm not a commercial artist. I may never be good enough to be a commercial artist, but if I ever succeed, I want to be able to use my purchases as I see fit. Biting tongue because this will otherwise turn into a long, (and considering how this day has gone) incoherent rant. Walks off mumbling about brushes and canvases for non-commercial use only.
Marque posted Fri, 31 May 2002 at 9:04 PM
I think if the product can't be used commercially it will be listed as such, not in the readme but right out front where we can see it clearly. If not, and I buy something I can't use because I didn't happen to read the readme I will not shop here again, period. It needs to be listed so you can see it as you look at the model, in large print so it won't be missed. Marque

my thanks to Blazerwiccan and raven...the survey then is a sort of follow-up "how should we make the store better?" sort of thing, I suppose...

I haven't received the survey either and I shop here plenty :( Pendy

Heh, I stated my opinion on that one too. It would be in the sites best interest to avoid that little restriction in the marketplace. I was happy to be able to express my ideas and opinions on improvement in the store, but I stated flat out that I will not abide by any no-commercial use restriction on anything I buy here.
No one has the right to take my money and tell me I can't use my render.

Yup, have to agree there. Marque
pendarian posted Sat, 01 June 2002 at 11:50 AM
I totally agree. If they end up putting non commercial usage products in the marketplace they better darn well put that up front in the ad. I for one, will not buy something that has a restriction like that, no matter how good the product is. And Kendra, like you I will not abide by any non-commercial use restriction on anything I buy here. If I lay out money for something I will abide by the non distribution clause (doh) but I will not tolerate someone telling me I can't sell a piece of artwork after I have paid money for the use of that model. That is nothing but GREED and a power play pure and simple. Once someone decides to sell a product, I feel they lose the right to request that it be used only non commercially. Other then that, I have no opinion on that subject. LOL!! Pendy
pendarian posted Sat, 01 June 2002 at 2:38 PM
Wow, got the survey in the mail thanks to Clint :) It's a tough call on the freebies...I love the earrings, they would look great on some closeups BUT love the boots too...maybe when the survey is over we will be able to get the other one somehow :) If you haven't received the survey in your newsletter, let them know over at the store contact forum. They will make sure you get it :) Pendy
Marque posted Sat, 01 June 2002 at 3:11 PM
Only one earring, not two. Hope they will sell just the boots by themselves. Marque
hauksdottir posted Sat, 01 June 2002 at 5:09 PM
I would have chosen the earclasp (it has a nice elvish feel to it), but went with the boots because of their intriguing top. Both are nice items, and I'd like to thank their creators. Carolly
pendarian posted Sat, 01 June 2002 at 6:35 PM
I agree Carolly, the earclasp is lovely, but the boots won out I'm afraid :) Thank you also from me to the creators. (thanks for reminding me of my manners Carolly :) ) Pendy

So far I haven't used any jewelry on any of my Poser women. Oh gosh, now they'll be mad at me. On the other hand, those boots... well they're sexy to me. Now where would I get a short dress to match?
Kiera posted Sat, 01 June 2002 at 6:59 PM
I made a promo for that ear thing.. don't you get a preview in order to choose? I hope so, because one prop is good for closeups and the other is good for scene shots. Anyway, hope you like the ear thing. It will be part of our next marketplace project after Ki. ;)
Marque posted Sat, 01 June 2002 at 7:18 PM
Nope, no pics to preview. Marque
Marque posted Sat, 01 June 2002 at 7:19 PM
Do like the ear thing, but it's all moot if I buy a package that has it included. Marque
ronknights posted Sat, 01 June 2002 at 8:50 PM
Kiera posted Sat, 01 June 2002 at 9:09 PM
Well, there will be more than one prop included in that package.. the ear thing was just my favorite. ;) Mostly because I wear those, and rarely see anything wearing them.
Marque posted Sun, 02 June 2002 at 11:09 AM
But what I'm saying is that if I buy the package for the other stuff it's kind of moot that I got the earring free. In that case the earring wasn't free, see my point? Just next time they do this I would hope they would have a pic of what the items are. Anyway, I'm not going to worry about it. Marque
Kendra posted Sun, 02 June 2002 at 3:57 PM
I chose the boots too. Thanks, Blazerwiccan, for posting that pic.
I'm glad I'm not alone in my feeling about purchasing "non-commercial use" stuff. But then I don't think free stuff restrictions should apply to finished renders either.
I'm considering putting a restriction of my own on my next free stuff item: Only available to people who don't restrict their own free stuff. :)

lhiannan posted Sun, 02 June 2002 at 4:07 PM
If I ever get to take the survey, I think I'll go with the earring. There are multitudes of thigh boots out there and while the top of the boots is interesting, it's nothing a nice transmap couldn't do.
Marque posted Sun, 02 June 2002 at 4:19 PM
Kiera, I hope you don't think I don't like the earring, it's very original, wish I could find a real one like it. Though don't know how I'd wear it, got 7 small hoops in each ear...lol Thank you for making it available to us, that was quite generous of you, and generous of Dark Whisper as well. Now, who's going to do an ATM prop that spits real money out of my A-drive???? Marque
hauksdottir posted Mon, 03 June 2002 at 4:20 AM
After another day of thinking about it, I wish that I'd chosen the earvine. My Poser ladies don't have much in the way of jewelry, and certainly nothing elvish and delicate. However, they are both nice offerings. Carolly

I'm such a dunce sometimes. I didn't even think it would be wrong, mis-used, etc. I apologize profusely for this mistake. I was only trying to help, but sometimes Good Intentions themselves are not appropriate or correct. Thanks, Clint, for fixing my mistake, and being kind enough to point out my error. Hi guys, I'm glad you liked the boots I made. Just a quick note to clear up any misunderstandings. - I made the boots purely for this survey, and they WON'T be made available seperately. - They CAN be used for any commercial project/picture as long as the boots themselves (the models) are not distibuted. cheers, d
