OOOOH, Doug, you're the greatest...Always have been. I got Green Lantern. Now do I ask my dumb questions here, or elsewhere? I need to figure how to put it all together! Ron
sturkwurk posted Sat, 01 June 2002 at 12:51 AM
basically... you need Mike, hair, Mikes body suit (remapped), boots, gloves, and either a mask texture or use the grouping tool for the mask. oh, and a ring prop wouldnt hurt. Not meant for the beginner... (I think I'll note that) Let me know what you need to track down Ron. Most of the stuff is FREE. (except the obvious Daz files)

Good to see your new site Doug, very cool, kudos.
ronknights posted Sat, 01 June 2002 at 7:50 AM
Doug, the goal here is to match the character you designed. That means finding the right boots, mask and hair. That means figuring how to make the proper texture/color changes, etc. I have the ability to do the functions, but don't have the "recipe or instructions" yet. I would very much appreciate your input or guidance.
sturkwurk posted Sat, 01 June 2002 at 8:11 AM
Ron, for the boots... I'll give you one guess where they are. That's right, Animotions.com in the misc. comic download section. (Superhero boots by Gerry for Michael) The hair I used was the standard wedgecut dark from daz. The mask was grouped on the face. The correct green color you can get easily by taking a color sample from the bodysuit texture.

OK, my ignorance asserts itself once again. Which Michael boots do we use? Aren't there more than one? How do we group a mask for the face? I love your texture. I've been playing with it for a bit. Then I decided to make a "super hero camera" library for my own use... It sure beats fiddling with the camera angles each time I do a super hero render.

Yep .. don't have that one and been too long :)

I'm surprised that you did Super Soldier and Spiderboy; I'd always thought that the Amalgam Comics characters were rather obscure. Any plans to do Dark Claw? I know that AofD has one, but I'd like to see your take on the character.

Hmmm, Interesting, I already have an account. That'll be the DSI conection I take it? later jb
sturkwurk posted Sat, 01 June 2002 at 8:02 PM
Little Dragon... you're officially the first person who ever seemed to care about the Amalgram characters, and now you know why I never made any more of them. Dark Claw was a cool character... Doug

The only one of the amagram books I picked up was the darkclaw animated one ... Was kinda fun but I didn't liek the other ones so much. Think the art didn't strike me when I was looking at them.

Doug since you're back can you do Vicky as Illsa, aka Wicked Warden of the SS, Tigress of Siberia, etc. etc. She's not a comicbook character but I'd love to grovel at her virtual boots. Oops, forget the last part. I can get pics if needed - not the groveling part. The Tombraider fervor isn't what it used to be, but I's like to see her Vicky. I have the P4 version. I never forgave them for casting Jolie and not using Rhona Mitra. How can you turn down a woman whose own father did her breast enhancement?

I'd personally love to see many fine Superhero characters done with Michael, Vicky, Stephanie, etc. Those characters just add so much more "dimension" to super heros!
lmckenzie posted Sun, 02 June 2002 at 5:51 PM
The free lo-res Vicky would be good if people want to do animations also.

This is funny... A year ago people complained about me making files with Victoria and Michael, because "nobody had them"... now it's the main request... not to worry... something special coming this week... watch the digital comics gallery here for a preview... maybe late Sunday night. Doug

Yeah, I hate that I can't get Vanessa Carlton on 78, just these new fangled CDs. Seriously though, I think you need to stay a generation behind the latest thing, which is now Stephanie and Mike 2. Of course for me, P4 is fine for most of the characters. I don't even know who a lot of them are now, but get some just because I like how they look. I'd like to have Vicky versions of the ones that I remember like the classic Supergirl, Wonder woman, etc. I stopped reading comics when they became outrageously expensive (I'll reluctantly pay $1 for a Coke but not $1+ for a comic). Also, when they ceased to be simple fantasy and became "relevant." I really don't care about Superman's conflicted inner personality. At any rate, I think the free Lo Vicky 1 would be perfect as a base. For better posing, I actually prefer Eve to Posette.
