Hi All Those plagued by the intermittent issue in Win2K where, for no reason, Poser won't render anything in a window I have just discovered a solution and hopefully this will cure the problem. Right click on your shortcut to poser and under the compatiability mode select Windows 98. This, so far, has left me rendering as normal. Hope this helps. Jody

I hesitate to use "compatability mode" for anything. Here are two other ways to do it. 1.) Reset your swap file (too complicated for me) 2.) I installed Poser on its own 30GB hard drive, and it works just fine. I still get the error once and awhile, and that means it's time to defrag the hard drive.

  1. Tried, no good, grops up car too frequently for my liking. 2) Done that, no difference While I too balk at using compatibility mode, this has been working flawlessly for big renders all day long. Seems the solution. best wishes Jody

Hmm. I have plenty of space and still get the error often when I first run the prog because often I save in shared space-- so I just save the file in the large drive first. And then render. I suppose I should save the file anyway, but I'm the reckless sort. I'm running XP on a laptop 40G There's enough room for now, but I have my 120 firewire waiting to be installed because There's Never enough space!!! I haven't had to try anything else yet. Cross fingers. Emily

I use 98, I use to get that error often till I downloaded the 4.03 update, but now it only happens when I try and use a clothing pak that I dont have the base set for, or I have unziped a freebie incorrectly and there are folders where their should not be folders.
