I haven't been able to figure it out yet, but, what settings do you use to save or export an OBJ so that all the parts list in the Poser render materials menu? I figured it out with RDS, that you just select "export texture maps" in the options window.

I haven't exported an OBJ with carrara yet, I would hope it would be the same. I'll go check it out now.

Okay I just got done playing with it. You have to apply a different shader to each part of the model that you want to have a material in Poser. If you apply the same shader to all the parts it will only have one material. Hope that helps. -Jeff H.

Thanks, Jeff. I tried that once, but it gave the parts the same name as the shader. I checked to export the texture maps when I did that, so that might have applied the shader names. I looked in the manuals, but couldn't find anything there. I will give it another shot this evening and take the manual with me to work tomorrow. If I make any grand discoveries, I will be back.

Yes, it will give the materials the same name as the shader. That's how it works.

I tried a few more things, and the easiest way I have found so far is to select one "part" in the assemble room and go to the texture room. Apply a different color to each part, and save the file. You can delete the MTL file. Imported into Poser, the OBJ has all the original part names.
