Hey mates, just a simple question for ya. I have Poser and Poser pro pack, but have quickly discovered that I'll probably need to get Mike and Vicki too. Should I get the 1.0 version or the 2.0 version? I only ask because I'm a bit confused as to why the 2.0 versions are cheaper on the daz site then the 1.0 versions. Any nuggets of wisdom?

Get 2.0 but make sure they are NOT the low poly version which is probably the cheaper version you saw on the website. Of course they may be running a sale, but I'd have to check. 2.0 has more morphs and worth it in my opinion.

is the 1.0 version the cd? if so you get a few more bits with it,but the v2 figures are more detailed, have more morph targets and overall are better looking than v1 Rob

Hmmm, the store seems to be down now. But if I remember right, it seemed that 2.0 did come as a CD and was a high poly version. I guess I'll check again when the market section is up again. Thanks mates, just didn't want to end up buying something that would screw me later.

Go for V2 for sure; high res. They're on sale now, too, so yr timing's good.

Go for version 2 on both. Ron

and if you've got enough money left over buy stephanie as well :) Rob

I'd go for Vicky 2.0 defiantely, but Mike? Wellll, maybe, maybe not. Depends what you need him for.... Wrymaster has "Massive Mike" who I personaly reckon looks better than Mike 2.0 "pumped up". But I've not seen that much more available for him than Mike 1.0 YMMV later jb

Alright, here's a lame question but I'm still new to this all. Does stephanie use the Vic model or is it a completely new model by Daz?

c1rcle posted Fri, 07 June 2002 at 10:52 AM

she's a new model based around mike's geometry but I've heard she can use vickies clothes. Rob

KattMan posted Fri, 07 June 2002 at 10:52 AM

no no no!!! Look at the pricing. Go grab the Mike and Vicky 1.0 CD's Then grab the Mike 2.0 and Vicky 2.0 Then grab the Mike Clothing Pack 2. Now add that up and see what it would cost you to get everything separate. This would include the following items: The mike and vicky clothing pack 1 the Mike and Vicky textures. the Vicky hair. the Mike hair. Of course you could do without the Mike and Vicky 1.0 if you go separate becuase you can always just strip down the 2.0 CR2's to just what you need. But I think even with that You come out cheaper buying the 1.0 double CD and simply upgrading to 2.0.

Tirjasdyn posted Fri, 07 June 2002 at 10:54 AM

Stephanie can use vicky's clothes, but she is based off mike. I've used mike textures on her but the ones just for steph are good. She's kind of anorexic. I like vicky better. As for mike 2.0 he has a ton more morphs than 1.0 and looks a lot less dorkish...a cronic problem with poser males.

I'm sure Dan will thank you for that comment! :)

I suggest if your going to invest in both characters you get yourself the CDs for both first and then upgrade to V2 and M2 when you familiarise yourself with them and/or budget allows. The CD comes with their basic clothing packs as well as hair and some other goodies I believe. Hell, I should have followed my own advice. As for Steph, she is based off Michael's mesh but is a stand alone character not requiring either Micke or Vick to use :) She can use Vick's clothing and hair quite well. She can also take Mike's morphs, albeit it some look alot better than others.

Please note that DAZ has 30% off on everything now, the "Summer Sale". Load up your credit cards ;-)

The ethnic morphs available on v.2 for both characters makes them worth it, in my opinion. There's also more body variation available, to make your worlds more believable. No matter what purchasing plan you do (CDs to upgrade versions, or just v.2 straight off), they are really worth the price.

KattMan posted Fri, 07 June 2002 at 8:47 PM

Definatly worth the price but you save money by buying the 1.0 cd's than upgrading. Unless you don't want the hair and clothing packs then it would be cheaper to go the pure 2.0 route but I really don't recommend it.

I'm visiting the DAZ site now. Victoria 2 and Mike 2 don't come on CD. Only Vicky 1 & Mike 1 does. You can save money by buying Vicky 1 or Mike 1 on CD, and then buying the download upgrade to version 2.(As others have stated!)
