Subject: (Unofficial) June MALE Pinup Contest (win free textures)

Heyas! Well first I'd like to say it's all Bloodsong's fault. About three years ago (really) she complained that there weren't enough male characters and textures around. So we did an August 'Poser Needs Men' drive. I made my first character (Shaun) for that, and that really is what started me off making massive amounts of freestuff (on my website). So. Here we are again, facing a terrible shortage of men for poser. So I invite everyone to make male pinup pictures, go ahead and push the possibilities - anime, anthropomorphic, 'specialty taste' - whatever. (please no visible erections, follow the TOS) Feel free to use any humanoid male poser character (but not the kids). You can post them here or in the gallery, if in the gallery please place a link here. Deadline: July 1 2002 The prize? First place I'll set up a full character for either Mike, Mike2 or Dork with textures. Second place, I'll make a body texture to order. So go for it boys and girls :) Lets see what you've got! oh my. I think I may do the judging from the safty of a cold shower. Yowza! Go ahead and enter as many times as you like :) and either a picture here, or a link to a gallery is fine, like I said. I'll be getting a gay male friend of mine to pick a 'Boy's Choice Award' as well - that winner will get a nifty leather vest for Mike or Dork (part of a package I'm working on for the store). It has morphs to open and close as well as some Mike2 matching morphs (not all).

OK, I'm posting this not for myself, but for another artist who happens to be a dear friend of mine, with her permission. Some of you may remember Kit, and her gallery of wonderful work.

Well, our galleries are both removed from here, as I am in the process of building our own website to showcase them. In the meantime, Kit still creates with Poser, and her work continually amazes me.

You asked for pinup material, I think this qualifies in spades...but you be the judge. ;)

BTW, the image is titled "Friends Like These"

well someone made a good point (in IM) If you guys don't mind, I'd like to restrict the contest to images made within the last month - so I'll disqualify anything posted before may 1 2002. And no fair deleting and reposting :) I'd like everybody to get a chance here :) this is getting to be more complicated than I thought! Just bear with me guys:)

I didn't want to post more older images to this Contest, but let me make the last exception... I did this pic together with Papu, when she visited me recently - it was a real fun to do it! We wanted to tease the viewers a little bit, so we choose the part of the pic that - ehm - doesn't look apparently masculine... with the result, that the possible admirers of the male beauty were not directly attracted to open the pic by watching the thumb... I think it was a bit confusing, so I'd like to give that pic a second chance... What do you think? :)

Oh yeah, Raven's texture is nice but I don't use it that much. There is a white area on his chest that I wish someone would fix. It's on the texture and looks sort of odd when rendered. If it weren't for that, I'd be using Raven more.

And one more. This one is just a head and shoulders shot, but not all pinups are full-body images. This is in the vain of the movie star magazines. In my teens, I carried pictures of such people as Davy Jones and Peter Noone from Herman's Hermits in my Pee-Chee at school. LOL Melanie

Ok. This was a lot .. more difficult.. than I expected it to be :) I was really expecting about 15 entries - not 93. If you're curious as to how I judged it was a mix of technical merit, aesthetics, and overall impact.
