Following on from my blasted scanner post, and prompted by Mysnapz' link to Bonusprint, I've done a little bit of homework regarding getting prints onto CD, and here are some costs. I've also worked out a cost for 5 films processed & put onto cd, without prints wherever possible, prints being at cheapest option available. Bonusprint : Will do developing>CD WITHOUT prints for 1.99 per film. Each film must be on a seperate cd. Cost for one : 1.99 Cost for 5 : 9.95 Truprint : 3.99 per cd - each cd can hold 5 films but you have to have a film processed normally - Min of 1.99 per film. HOWEVER you do get a FREE FILM (400 asa) for each one you send in, which to be honest gave me good results. Cost for one : 5.98 Cost for 5 : 13.94 (But 5 free films too) Kodak : Through retail stores, eg Savers Chemists : 5.00 per cd, film must be developed & printed as normal, one film per cd. Cheapest printing 2.99 Cost for one : 7.99 Cost for 5 : 39.95 Boots The Chemist : Nationwide stores, film must be developed & printed as normal. Prints included in price, one film per cd 9.99 Cost for one : 9.99 Cost for 5 : 49.95 Jessops : Nationwide stores, film must be developed & printed as normal at 5.99 each. Cd only 1.99, can have up to 5 films per cd. Free film per film developed, but at 5.99 I should think so too! Cost for one : 7.98 Cost for 5 : 31.94 Summary : Cheapest Pricewise is Bonusprint, however, considering with Truprint you get a decent free film and the prints back it makes the extra 4 worth it. Shops? Man, I dunno - there's the security of not needing the postal service involved so less risk of them being lost or damaged, but unless they're important that's quantifiable. ---------------------------------------------------------- Wow. I've literally gathered this info as I've typed the post & I'm amazed. A difference of 40?!? Hell. No kidding, I'm gobsmacked. I might even mail this off to my local newspaper!!! Hope it's of some use, sorry it's pretty meaningless to most of you guys out there........ (",)
