I am extremely new to Bryce and have just done an assignment for an online class in which we created a symlat from a picture. So I have this flat as a board leaf that I can rotate any which way I want but can I bend it? Make its edge curl in a bit, stuff like that.
Thanks, Ang

If you have Poser, you can import the model there, and use a magnet to bend it. Unfortunatly it cant be done in Bryce i think.

You would have to edit it in the terraineditor in Bryce. It takes some skill to model in the terrain editor with greyscales.

Thanks Rochr but I don't have Poser yet, next on my wish list. Interesting Aldaron, I'll have to play around this summer with the terrain editor. So for now I will have to live with the flat leaves, lol. I appreciate both of you helping me.

Above is a good link to a tutorial on making Symlat leaves. Hope it helps

Love that leaf link, can't wait to give it a try. Also, the link to the free d/l's looks great. There's just so much to learn. Only two more weeks of my class then I'll be on my own with Bryce, I expect I will be here quite often this summer. :) Thanks, Ang

The symlat itself can't really be warped. But you can take the same picture with alpha channel that was used to make the symlat and instead apply it to a sphere. Then you can squash the sphere using the edit controls if you'd like. As long as you also have the symlat version in your picture, I'm sure da teach won't mind Sylvia

OMG I've been caught by my teacher. :) Hi Sylvia, I've been doing research. So nice to see you here. I don't know if there are other places like this but I think Renderosity is the greatest for getting help. I've already gotten bunches of help not only here but in some of the other forums too. Ang PS I'm having lots of fun with week 5's assignment.

I'm glad you're having fun researching and all...that's why I gave you folks all the links! LOL I see the little smiley I put in my note didn't make it through. I'm in the habit of using the carat instead of parens. :) (---trying again Sylvia
