If you have Winzip program on your computer, all you have to do is double click them and agree, and it will open....okay, let me know if you need more info. Sharen

You are on a PC, right? Zip is a PC compression. Emily

Um, that is the problem, I just recently switched to a different Windows system, and I haven't re-installed it yet. So do you guys know how to do it (practically) manualy? Thanks though! Heather

I'm sorry, I'm really slow tonight. You haven't reinstalled what? What are you trying to do manually? Have you installed Poser? Have you installed any Poser stuff before? If so, what and from where? If you don't have a zip utility yet, Winzip seems to be very popular. I have another program that I prefer... You need to install your zip utility before you start. You'll want Poser installed too. You might want to visit my tutorials site, I have a pretty easy way of explaining just how to install Poser stuff. If you get something from DAZ-3D, you just run the exe file, answer a couple questions and you're done. If something is zipped, you need to unzip the file. You can run into several different variations of that theme, depending on how someone packaged the item.the_pumpkin_king posted Sat, 22 June 2002 at 7:58 PM
heheheh, confused are we? I havent re-installed WINZIP, I have Poser 4 in no problem, I am just having problems unzipping these compressedzipped files I downloaded from the free section of this site. I shouldn't have used the word "manually". What I mean is without winzip, or any of that kind of software besides the minimum performance one the new system came with. Thank you for replying though! I am about to check that link you left, I hope it will solve all my (pathetic) begginer problems. Thanks again! Heather

Heather, your beginner problems are not pathetic. I do get easily confused at times, and have learned that it is sometimes good to clarify the situation before jumping in with lots of suggestions. By the way, I'd appreciate it if you call me Ron. Thanks.

Thanks Ron. Y'know, I bet that tutorial is super helpful, but I can't see it because of my problem! AAK! I can't get any of my zipped folders to work right. +_+ Of course........anyway, I will take another whack at it. Thanks again! Heather

If you like I can post a tutorial at my site, unzipped. But if you're still having problems unzipping files, then you probably want to make that a priority. It seems to me you'd just need to reinstall your zip program.

Yes, I definatly need to put that program back in, but I got your tutorials to open! WOO HOO! They were VERY helpful. I enjoyed the easy steps the most, because no matter what you say, beginners' problems are always pathetic and we are really slow...well at least I am! Hahaha, But anyway, I really liked your tutorials. I will probably be getting Victoria soon, so I will have to check out your other stuff! Hey, try e-mailing me sometime; it will probably be easier than this! along_came_a_spider7@yahoo.com Thanks! Heather
